Carnival Fantasy

5 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)

Sail date: June 11, 2007

Ship: Carnival Fantasy

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 17 years ago

Review summary

This ship was fine for young travelers or families looking for an inexpensive trip. For the most part it was not impressive like some ships - even some in the Carnival Crusie lines. We've sailed with Carnival and several other crusie lines. I would not say it was

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was very good and there was certainly no shortage of it!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
One night was talent night - the people on the ship preformed (yikes!) One night there was a professional comedian yet it seemed he had no routine. The other 3 nights were good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
We paid for 4 beds in 2 rooms. We got 3 beds and 2 cots in these rooms. This is an older boat.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Most staterooms are small on boats. This one did not have a hair dryer like most and there were not as many beds as we had paid for.

Ports of call

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico

Pros: The food was very good on the ship. The ship was clean and the ship's staff were polite. The ports had a lot to choose from for things to do and we felt safe traveling with several teens in these ports of call. There was a lot for them to choose from

Cons: The ship charged gratuities of 10$ per day per person plus each time you ordered something. Pricelines' representative Isabelle specifically said all charges were included in the price we paid for this trip to Priceline.
