We had a fantastic time!... by Jenl37a

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Elation

We had a fantastic time! It was my son's first cruise and I think he's hooked. He even asked to go on another cruise over going to Disney! That's saying something for a 9 year old. The staff was amazing and we really enjoyed all of the great activities for kids. Food was yummy and the dining staff remembered our drink orders without asking after the 1st night. Our room was very clean and a little more spacious than I was expecting. Our room steward was wonderful. The shows were really great, especially Epic Rock. I Looooooved it. Embarkation and debarkation went pretty smooth, with just a few short delays ( caused by folks trying to carry on luggage that would not fit through the security scanner). My only very minor issue was that I wish they kept the lido deck hot tubs hot at night too. The jets were on but not the heat. They were on on the Serenity deck though, so really just a minor thing. Half Moon Cay is pure paradise. My family had an amazing time and I highly recommend the Elation.

Ship: Carnival Elation

Being our first cruise I was nervous about so many things. I must say we had the best time. I can't think of one thing wrong with the whole cruise. We enjoyed the food, shows and staff. So much to do on the ship. Our boys loved the kids room. Made Andre in the dinning was amazing. Our room stew Richard was very helpful amd kept our room spotless. We would sail on the Elation again!

Ship: Carnival Elation

Just got home. This was my first time on this ship but not to Carnival ships. The ship was clean , the staff was friendly and helpful. Half moon cay was beautiful, I stayed on the boat in Nassau (been there several times). The shows were ok. The guy playing the guitar and singing was really good. The food in the dining room was horrible. The buffet was hit or miss. The salad bar was good and guys burgers were good. I will not go back on this ship. It was just ok over all.

Best Vacation EVER! by funzing

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a blast! Loved the ship, loved the food, the crew, the shows, and our comfy beds. We all had an amazing vacation. The ship is smaller than the last one we went on but the crew on this ship went above and beyond to make this ship and our time on it amazing.

Cruise director really got everybody involved! All employees on ship worked so hard to make sure everyone enjoyed their time. Missed the lobster tail night instead of having to pay extra

Elation 8/13/18 by jadmon03

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I dailed on the Elation 8/13/18. Overall I loved the ship. The crew on this one are amazing. You really had a chance to get to know them personally. The food was good. The last evening seemed to have less of a selection on the lido deck. But I did eat so it wasn't that bad. The main dining room was rocky the one night we went. I love the selection on the lido so I chose not to eat in the dining room the other nights. There were plenty of things going on throughout the ship for adults. My daughter (14) said the activities on the Sunshine to were a little better. But it has more things to do. i.e basketball court, movie theater on lido, skywalk, etc. The cabin was nice as well. Wasn't in it enough to say it was missing anything. The usb ports were plentiful. Bathroom was not huge but it served its purpose. Layout was great. It didn't take the entire cruise to figure out where you were going and how to get there. The cruise director was great as well. Marq is very personable. So with that being said I am looking forward to possibly sailing in her again for Christmas 2019 it of Port Canaveral.

Not what I expected by disil4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise. I was not expecting the large crowds and noise at the very small only pool on the ship and was disappointed. The shows were fun, and the staff friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. There was an all you can eat buffet that was open during certain hours, an I ce cream shop that’s open all the time, Pizza pirate which is supposed to be open 24 hours but was not always, Blue iguana Cantina, which served tacos at certain times, and guys burgers, which were delicious. The movie night at the Cole Porter lounge was fun. They take your picture throughout the trip, and 5 x 7’s are $15 apiece, and 8x10’s are $22 apiece. My sister did not have hot water to evenings to take a shower. The staff did not really do anything to accommodate her. We had adjoining rooms, so she was able to shower in our room, however, if that were not the case, she would not have been able to shower in the evenings. This is a significant problem that they did not resolve even after being notified twice. We notified our housekeeper and guest services and no maintenance person came until the day after the problem. There’s not much to do in Freeport without booking an excursion. Nassau was pretty built up, and there was lots to do. Lots of places to take pictures, and shops. It was raining the morning that we got to Nassau, and it was beautiful the rest of the day. Rain passes over quickly. The fitness center is pretty nice, has many treadmills and elliptical‘s, and a weightlifting area. The worst parts of the cruise we’re getting on and off the ship. You are at the mercy of the staff and customs. That part stunk. The carnival elation definitely needs a bigger pool, and to keep places that serve food open when they are supposed to be. Our balcony room was the best part of the cruise, as it was quiet, we could watch sunrises and sunsets, and the stars from it, and we couldn’t imagine having any other room. It was definitely a highlight of this trip.

Great ship. My only... by shebtasha2u

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Elation

Great ship. My only complaint was our cabin. I received a call prior to sailing offering an upgrade from our interior cabins to ocean view cabins. WELL... one cabin was a regular ocean view, but our cabin was an adjoining cabin. Our neighbors were LOUD, rude, disruptive, and lacked basic etiquette. The gentleman “hacked up loogies” EARLY (before sunrise) every morning; they argued about him having “streaks” in his underwear; and their normal conversation volume was always set to MAX. The cabin had one shared door separating the cabins. Not like a hotel with 2 doors to help buffer sounds. We could see the light from their cabin and hear EVERYTHING they did and said. And I’m positive they could also hear my sister and I. It made our time in our cabin unbearable. The ship was at capacity so we weren’t able to move 🤦🏽‍♂️. Next time I will be sure to check the map to see where the cabin is and to ensure it is not an adjoining cabin to complete strangers. Food options were pretty good Pool and hot tubs were always crowded. Was able to enjoy the slides and pool while others were in port. Cabin was clean. Nice views from window. Not happy about our neighbors in the adjoining cabin. Entertainment was good. MarQ is an high energy cruise director that will keep you laughing and smiling. Staff was GREAT! Embarking was a SLOW and LONG process. The hurry and wait dampened our mood. Disembarking was a SLOW and LONG process, but what else is new. Overall - good vacation.
