If you only have a few days to get away, this 5 day cruise to Bimini/Nassau will feel like a vacation.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
As a Platinum VFIP this experience was much better than my 6/2023 experience out of Port Canaveral.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
You can tell the staffing is low on the ship, especially in the dining room. There were nights that serving dinner took over 2 hours. A couple of times our food was just "warm" or over cooked. Requests were for things took longer. But Carnival has set the bar so high that someone who has been traveling with Carnival for over 20 years notices these things. Dinner was never terrible just not the excellence we are used to from Carnival.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Elation is a smaller boat and I went with my best friend of 48 years. So we weren't really looking for a lot of activities to do. Just relaxing and talking. We used the Serenity Deck, Casino, Bingo once, spa to wash and dry my hair, didn't do the pool, they were always too full of people.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
As I said earlier, you can tell they are under staffed. However, they did a good job.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ships layout was good. It was clean for sure.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We loved the window cabin. We saw sunrises and sunsets from our room. It was very clean. We requested Terry Robes and they were there the next morning. We asked for ice and they kept is filled and in the little fridge to stay cool. Our Steward, Edi was the best!
Ship tip
I don't know because everything was good for us. Maybe be sure to reserve your excursions early.
LOVED, LOVED this port!! Its so small and unadvertised. We went on the Resort excursion that also stops at the Hilton Hotel and Casino. The resorts were so gorgeous.
We visited this port but we did a "Resort for the Day" excursion to the RIU resort. in Nassau. It was so relaxing and not over crowded. If you go there on the resort for the day, be sure you eat in the INSIDE restaurant and the pool side bbq. It was such better food and way more options of food. Plus you don't have to eat in the heat. Just leave a tip on the table and thats all! Food is included on the price as well as drinks. But I don't do alcohol but I put away quite a few Diet Cokes!
