Review summary

Overall we enjoyed our cruise. Wish we didn’t have to wait in long lines. The Bahamas is gorgeous. More affordable excursions would be nice. All the carnival employees we encountered were amazing.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
This is our 4th cruise and was the worst we’ve experienced. Long lines in the heat and jam packed with people. Total chaos due to multiple lines and not knowing which one is for what time. We ended up finally leaving the port around 6.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
More vegetarian options needed.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did the pool, water slides, mini golf, ping pong and fitness center. Would be nice if the mini Golf was stocked with plenty balls. More options for kids would be nice.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the trivia games, deal or no deal, bingo and the comedy club. The big time shoes were cheesy.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
My kiddo didn’t enjoy the kids club. More kids events with parents would be nice.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We loved our cruise director Neil. Our room steward Dan in R40 was amazing. Edgar on the fun team was great.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Took us a little bit of time to figure out how to get to the inspiration dining. On 8th floor but need to go up to 9 to get the stairs/elevator that will go to that part of the 8th floor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Not a lot of space. Loved the towel animals.

Ship tip

Bring a jacket.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

1 out of 5
Very in organized. In the past we would drop off our luggage and then wait in line.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We did the snorkel with turtle and snorkel. Wouldn’t recommend. I ended up being all bruised and not much time at each snorkel area. In addition the captain was incredibly rude.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Enjoyed our day at the beach. More vegetarian options would’ve been appreciated.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Chaos once again. Waiting for two hours once we had to leave our room to getting to our car.

Next time try an excursion outside the cruise line. Viator, Shore Excursioneer, Shoreexcursions.com, Cruise Critic, and Shipmate all have affordable, reliable options. I think you'll find them to be better quality and much cheaper. As far as the layout, that's the main reason I prefer Royal Caribbean's ships over Carnival - I like the main promenade option of walking from end to end without having to play the "Does this deck go all the way through???" game for a week. Nightmare!

Appreciate your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your cruise except for the embarkation and debarkation. Too bad the Children’s program wasn’t as good as hoped.
