Carnival really let us down on this one. My extended family are frequent carnival guests but agreed that it’s been slipping of late. They too cited lack of dress code enforcement and quality of dining as a reason to seek other options. Surprised that we could pinpoint what rooms had people smoking weed but no one did anything about it as it was there all 6 days... if I had it to do again I would have spent my money and enjoyed Florida more and stayed off the boat.

Food and Dining

Buffet was pretty bad. What was the most disappointing was the lack of enforcement of dress code in the main dining rooms.. baseball caps, beachwear... basically everything the sign said you couldn’t do was permissible... we went to the trouble of bringing our finest duds to enjoy some upscale dining only to find out that it would have been perfectly fine to dress like we were doing yard work at home.
Onboard Activities

Spray park and water slides were pretty good fun. Comedy club was entertaining
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Epic rock and divas of rock were good shows. Just both were really short... about 40 minutes each... would have been awesome if they were at least an hour. Left you wanting more.
Children's Programs

Didn’t feel comfortable leaving our child there after the tour. Kids were all crying looking for their parents...
Service and Staff

Room steward was awesome. Very detail oriented.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Pretty well maintained although it’s showing it’s age at this point but still a good boat
Cabin / Stateroom

Pleased with the size and cleanliness of our cabin. Has a comfortable Murphy bed on wall for more bedding options.
Ship tip
Carnival does nothing about weed smell in the halls and don’t expect staff to care.. also Don’t get your hopes up regarding any food... was a huge letdown compared to our Royal Caribbean cruise 6 months ago.
Went smoothly as I think everyone wanted off the ship due to the rough seas we had encountered.. won’t book again during hurricane season.. porters are available for luggage..
This is an older ship on a shorter itinerary aimed primarily at first-time and budget conscious cruisers. These cruises tend to attract more of a party crowd. A longer itinerary on a newer ship will usually be a better experience. If the dress code and party crowd really bother you, try Crystal, Symphony, Viking, Cunard, Oceania, etc. for a better experience.
