This was a birthday cruise for me, for us to get away for the weekend. I would have gotten more rest and enjoyment staying home. The excursions were fine and enjoyable. The one thing I can say that was nice is that we met some nice people. We have pictures of some of the issues of the ship if anyone wishes to contact us. Your uploading process is not opening up to work for me to load pictures. Very disappointing cruise.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was the easiest embarkation we have done.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food in the main dinning hall was not a great experience. Food was cold and dried out on many dishes. Disappointed that I had to pay for fillet and Lobster on elegant night. I bought it and the lobster was chewy.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Everything was too crowded to enjoy, ie pool deck, hot tubs.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We have seen a lot better entertainment on other ships. I enjoyed one of the comedians. The Showtime shows were okay. And the games contest could have done a better job about not being so raunchy. Especially on the pool deck when children were around. I know you cannot control how the people act but the ship staff do not need to encourage the behavior. The singing was good from showtime crew.

Ship Quality
2 out of 5
We were amazed by the condition of the ship. The ship had multiple areas of rust throughout. Only 1 set of elevators to go to floor 11 and above. There were many people who waited for elevators at the time to get them to those floors. Many people couldn't walk the stairs because they were in wheelchairs. After waiting 30-40 minutes for the elevators my husband carried our luggage the flights of stairs to our room. I had a difficult time walking the stairs due to having 2 knee surgeries last year. Come to find out one of the elevators was out of commission due to moving luggage to the rooms. Many of the walls around the elevators were dirty and stained. We also planned for a Junior suite high up on the ship because we new what the noise level on lower decks could be. So we went higher so that the late night hours would be a bit quieter. Well, that was not what we had. After 1130pm into the early hours of each night. We had to call about people running on the Sundeck about us. Sounding like a herd of elephants running around. Things even shook in our rooms. We called Guest Services and made them aware of the situation. The first night they sent security to investigate. The second night we had a security guard come to our door at midnight to ask what was going, we explained and he proceeded to tell us that the sundeck was a public area, that they would continue to monitor the area. We explained that it is not acceptable to be up on that deck stomping around during the middle of the night. We did go to Guest Services and there are notes on file of the discussions. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep during this cruise.also, when we boarding our day in Freeport there was a lift doing work above passengers heads as we all came on ship. Very unsafe. There were a lot of areas with rust on this ship as well.
Cabin / Stateroom

room was dusty.
Ship tip
Don't sail Carnival Elation, it needs to be remodeled.
We went on the top 10 things to see in the Bahamas, it was an okay tour. They were late getting started and rushed us through to finish on time. The guide was knowledgable of the island and its's history. The problem we found that there was only one line to get back on and only had scanner to check bags as people come aboard making it a very slow process. Not acceptable.
We were on Elation in April of this year. We had the best time, food was great and the shows were good. Cruise diretor Chris was the best. Our room guy Michael was also awesome. Someone always has to complain about something thats why i dont go by the negativity i check it out myself. We loved The Elation and will sail again on it.
Smh sounds like cruising isnt for you and the many other complainers! Was om the elation in Febr and it was just as fine as the other ships we been on!
Did you not look on the decks above and below before booking your cabin? Public areas are always noisy! People have the right to be in publc areas. Granted, they could be a little more respectful in the late night/ early morning hours! Lesson learned. Check out the deck plan before you book. No public areas... No restaurants... No Galley... No problem!
Well now you know that all those reviews about a cabin below the pool deck can be noisy. Ear plugs help to block out noise. Everyone says the quiet rooms are the decks in-between other cabin decks. Hopefully your review will help others out.
