Review summary

This was my family’s first cruise and was OK at best. This ship did not offer many activities to keep my family entertained and together. We often separated to keep ourselves busy. The ship was clean and the staff was friendly.

Embarkation

Quick and easy. Did not like that porter asked for a tip before even loading our luggage.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was decent but ice cream machines were often broken or only producing soupy ice cream. Would be nice if more options were open for greater hours.

Onboard Activities

My daughter and I attended a few shows, the musical numbers were great. The kids clubs were often empty and not very energetic. The hot tub’s had Luke warm water and the swimming pool was drained by 8 PM on our last night. My kids are too old for the Dr. Seuss activities, but too young to participate in many of the activities surrounding the bars at night my daughter and I attended a few shows, the musical numbers were great. Entertainment

The singing and dancing group was fantastic, the DJ was great and our cruise director, Chris, was so amazing!

Children's Programs

My children are in age groups for two separate clubs, 02 in Circle C. Each time we entered those clubs, there were barely any children and the environment was dreary. No excitement to keep them in the clubs.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room was definitely smaller than I expected, and the trundle bed was so close to the floor. There were very few channels available to watch on the TV, which made time in our cabin less than enjoyable. That being said, our steward, Henry, kept our room very clean and there was ample storage space to remove our belongings from our suitcases during our stay.

Ship tip

It was OK for a first time cruise, but do your research on the different shifts that are available and ensure you pick a ship that has activities for everyone in your traveling party.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We did not have an excursion at the sport. I was pleased to see there was a small shopping area when we got off the ship. That was plenty to keep my family entertained, shopping for souvenirs and trying some of the local cuisine.

Nassau, Bahamas

Our excursion at this part was a beach day at the colonial Hilton resort. The resort was nice and was within a 10 minute walking distance from the port. The staff was friendly, the beach was clean. Our only problem is that it rained! Walking from the port to the resort was a bit sketchy. The locals were extremely pushy about trying to get us to buy things.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We were supposed to be out of our rooms by 8 AM, but due to some issues that were unknown to us, our deck was not allowed to begin disembarking until nearly 1030. That’s simply too long to have so many people hanging out in the main areas.
