Review summary

The seas were rough, but I liked it, it rocked me to sleep. Slept later, than I ever do, at home. The ports were beautiful and the weather was good. The ice cream machine was broken almost the entire time and that aggravated my husband. He says he doubts he will ever go on another.

Embarkation

2 stars at best. Our time kept being put out, our shuttles stoped running at twelve from our hotels. Had to wait while the port worked with the shuttles to set up new times. Stuck sitting in the lobby for 3-4 hours. Finally got released to go to the ship and the port turned us away. Had to go back to the hotel and wait again. Finally got the call to come back and then had to stand in the line for over an hour and a half. With no water or anything to drink. The lady that checked us in was very nice. Some of the inspectors- Not so much.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in the imagination room twice, food was ok, long wait after seated, but Luhur our steward was wonderful, very nice. We decided to to eat at Guys or the buffet the rest of the time. The times were given for early, late and brunch breakfast. It didn't seem like Tiffany's was being ran to the schedule, I was getting fruit from the bar and a girl was taking other items away, much earlier than the times that were given. She huffed and walked away, then came back with a sign that said buffet closed, and slapped it on the counter.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The putt putt was closed till the very last day, which ticked my husband. I saw shuffle board, but there was one shuttle and the pushers looked like they were broken. I never saw anyone playing. The hot tubs weren't hot. The pool was closed with a net over it, in Nassau. And several of the hot tubs were netted. Went to water works and someone had crapped on one of the slides. There was no urgency to get people out of the water or to clean it up. We never used any of the water activities, again.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We played bingo, which was fun. But BK needs to keep his comedy at the club. Getting the cards wasn't organized, they came to you. My friend sat down after we had already been waited on, BK was just behind us and I asked him if he could help her. He was an ass an embarrassed me. He may have been trying to be funny, but he missed the mark, by a mile. Happened on the same day as the waitress at the breakfast bar. He is lucky I held on to my composure.

Children's Programs

Traveled without children.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Brigette, our steward was the best! Always nice and always smiling. I may not be spelling it correctly, but Luhur was our waiter in imagination and he was very good at his job, and very funny. Dean Caine was fabulous! I would go see him again. Very funny without being nasty and no bad language. His impersonations were spot on!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very nice and clean. I wondered at the lack of trash cans near the elevators and stairs. But the staff kept everything clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I ran out of water in the middle of a shower, conditioner in my hair and soap on my skin. Got out and put my hair in a towel and tried to get the soap off with wipes. It came back on in @5 minutes. The shower was hot and the water pressure was good. The bathroom was bigger than I though it would be and the storage was good with plenty of hangars.

Ship tip

Don't go on a ship just out of dry dock. I know what everyone meant on chat, when they said,, "hope they get the kinks worked out"!

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

If we had known it would be evening before we were let on the boat, we could have planned to see it.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

It was beautiful. Very relaxing. We took our own snorkels and it was fun. Went to the wooden ship to get a drink and sat there for several minutes. The bartender came right beside us and never greeted us, looked at us, or asked for our order. We went back to the ship. Ate at Guys! Very good! Staf was always nice, there.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
It was ok, I had always wondered what everyone meant about the smell. Met a nice lady named Denise and she warned me about the water taxis, taking you to the beach and you still had to walk 10-15 minutes to the beach. Ended up getting back on the ship, it was hot and smelly. But, I got some really good pictures.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was definitely better than embarkation. I wondered why we didn't have to go through a metal detector or any kind of search, but was glad!!!

We never saw it broken just empty.... They were constantly having to refill them, 2 ice cream machines to service over 2000 cruisers. We may have waited a couple times as they were being refilled... We ate ice cream everyday--- more than once. You may have just had bad timing..... Which stinks, but it happens.

So your husband didn’t like the cruise because the ice cream machine was broken?

I sympathize with your husband. Ice cream machine is always my favorite thing on the ship too..
