Review summary

My husband and I took our first and last cruise.

We have listened to friends brag about the trips they have taken and how delicious the food and entertainment is ,Well we didnt get to experiance either the food at Tiffanys was ok salad bar was the best. The sit down restraunt was horrible nothing was even warm or tasty my husband asked a server for butter and he told him its over there go get it ,lol and you had to pay extra for lobster and steak service sucked .Entertainment felt like a High school drama performance .Comedy club was a hit thumbs up there .ports we stoped at Freeport waste of time nothing there to see or do a bunch of junk shops to look in.Nausa we went on a ATV tour sucked we were told we would have time to sight see, take pictures and beach time we were rushed through a very rocky path to a parking lot along the beach and then dropped off at a beach were we were told we had 15 minutes I was very disappointed since we had been stuck on a ship looking at the ocean ,  Half moon cay was hands down the best part of the trip carnivals private island , but again we were not there long enough we did snorkle and that was fun and the had a lunch buffet that was the best food we had ate all week !~

We loved the Elation. Going again in May. Love the smaller ships.

I think you comment of "stuck on a ship" says it all. Cruising may just not be for you and that's OK. If everyone wanted to cruise, the lines would charge a lot more.

My first cruise was on the Elation and that was 15 cruises ago that is how I got hooked, but I will agree I like the bigger newer boats better.

Elation was my first cruise last year and I loved it, Carnival is great, and our party totally enjoyed ourselves. Yes, don't give up, as the others stated, it's all about what u make it.

it happens to us all once in a while. don't give up on crusing. take one on a different cruise line and you'll see how great it is.

We hated the Elation also. But we still had a blast. You have to choose to have a good time when certain things aren't perfect. The Elation was our first cruise and even though we didn't like the ship we cruised again because we knew are kids would love it. We loved our second cruise which was on the Conquest. I think it was our 8th cruise we decided to try the Elation again because it was the only ship that would work in our time frame. I almost invoked Carnival's 24 hour vacation guarantee. We absolutely hated it, but we decided to make the best of it and we had a great time, but will never cruise on another fantasy class ship. So give a larger ship a try. Cruising is a great way to vacation but with each cruise (we've done 10) we learn more about which types of ships we like and which ones we don't. Our other absolutely never again is the Sunshine. But a lot of people love both those ships.

Sorry you didn't like cruising. But, I would say, if you try again, go with a bigger ship. Small and old ships are in my opinion, not everything a cruise has to offer. Even try another cruise line.

May I ask what cruise line you went on? I've had great experiences with Princess.
