Review summary

This ship needs and overhaul of its crew and added things to do. We have been on smaller ships that were more fun. Get a real DJ who knows music and doesn’t cut out the song in the middle to start a new. More fun activities. Better spa personal that make you want to come back and are good at what they do. Do not push products there and be nasty when people do not want to buy. Train your staff to be better. Get drinks faster to those who order and/or have more staff there to help. Go back to the fun ship you use to be.

Dinner was great, breakfast was horrible all week. Pancakes so hard could break a window.l and most wasn’t hot. Lunch was hit or miss. Alcoholic drinks were mostly weak and all drinks took 30-45 mins to get.

Onboard Activities

The only reason I’m giving it a 3 stars is because the Piano Man Mat (with one T) rocked!!! I was told there would be an 80s party-nope. We were told there would be a deck party fundraiser for St Jude’s and all it happened to be was music playing while you bought shirts. Shows were ok. The Lex band rocked. She and Piano Mat made the cruise. Our dining room people weren’t great and our room Stewart was bad. Spa was bad. Got a massage and keratin blow out. The guy who did my blow out pushed and pushed to buy these products that were way over priced and when I put my foot down and said a firm no he was a jerk and nasty. Massage wasn’t worth the price and I got it discounted.

Piano man Mat and Lex band rock!!!! The rock musical was good. DJ sucked!!! The lead female singer was bad. Dancing was ok.

Slow and not very personable. Been on other Carnival cruises and were very impressed with them. This was saw horrible. Most didn’t learn our names, or drink until the last day. Others hardly talked to us. Drinks took forever and bartenders had no personality. Spa personal were rude, 99% of them, and pushy.

It’s all what you make it!! I’ve been on several cruises and different cruise lines and all the experiences have been different BUT good!! I’m on VACA and we make our own fun. Maybe cruising isn’t for everyone! Different cruise lines and different class ships is what it’s all about. You don’t know unless you try a few. I love cruising and all mine have been good. 👍👍

Going on her for the first time in April 2019. I will make my own opinions. I don't let reviews determine whether i am going to a good time or not. Been on 11 so far. Enjoyed everyone of them. I hope your experience is better on your next cruise of choice.

Which "smaller" ships have you been on? Your profile shows 1 cruise? The Ecstasy is a "Fantasy Class" ship which is now Carnival's smallest class of ship. I have been on many Carnival cruises & have never had a bad experience. Maybe because I'm thankful I'm on vacation. I hope your next one is a better experience no matter what line you choose!
