Review summary

My first ever cruise. My 7 year old daughter's first cruise as well. It was a daddy/daughter cruise in our case. I could not be more happy with the cruise, the ship, Carnival, the Carnival staff. The fun things to do on the ship. The food was incredible. My only complaint was having to go back home & back to work. I will plan 1 cruise with Carnival every year from her on out.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I'm not a drinker....so I can't comment on the alcohol part. But the food was tremendous. The various juices & lemonade was great for my daughter & I.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So much to do. Hot Tubs, Waterslides, casino, kids club, live shows....we enjoyed all of the above.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The live music shows were terrific, my 7 year old daughter enjoyed them as well.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Kids club is great....the kids can opt in or opt-out in activities...so it's very flexible.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
excellent...friendly....

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
it's not the largest or the newest ship....but it has MORE than enough to offer & to do....& it was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
What you'd expect on a ship...smaller than a hotel room...very efficient use of space. Our room was impeccably clean. Beds & pillows were comfortable.

Ship tip

Just explore the ship...take time to just walk around & see everything.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

It was OK....we did not plan to do much there. Just a place to catch the ship. We didn't see a whole lot to do close to the ship. There were some privateer restaurants...but we waited until on the ship to eat lunch.

Nassau, Bahamas

It's a 3rd world country...so it has it's sketchy areas. The locals view anyone exiting a cruise ship as an ATM machine. Everything cost's 5x what it should, every street vendor has a sob story or a crying kid to try to get you to pay even more. ASK THEM THE PRICE BEFORE YOU AGREE TO BUY ANYTHING. If you hand them a $10 for a coke...they will try to keep the whole $10 and make you demand the change. I'd stay away from the street vendor's altogether unless you're ready to or enjoy out hustling a hustler. Stick to the walk-in souvenir shops with doors & an actual building & it's just like Florida...no BS. no hustling.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Small slice of paradise. The street vendors here are nice, not aggressive hustlers. Best part of the trip was Paradise Cays.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick...no issues.
