Review summary

So, all the food was great, all the staff were wonderful.  Service was exceptional.

Ship was in good shape.

The down side was I paid extra to have a nice balcony room.  What a disappointment when it seems that everyone who had a balcony smoked!  I couldn't enjoy my morning coffee without smelling someone's butt!  I told the room steward, he went and talked to them all.  I was told they were not supposed to smoke only two places on the ship.  The casino and deck 11.  I was not the cigarette police, I cam e to enjoy the cruise!

Also, most of the crew spoke a foreign language, and were hard to understand, or didn't understand you.  I was tolerant of it, but, had to ask them a lot to tell me something again.  Frustrating for them AND me!

room was VERY small. And then the issue with the balcony and all the smokers. It would have be such a nice experience without that. And they didn't seem to enforce the no smoking there OR on the Serenity deck. Our sink was stopped up, we called and they fixed it, but, had to call them several times, and pretty soon they just pulled the plug. And the toilet leaked.

Ship tip

Bring a small clock and a power strip. Only one plug in and no clock. No need to bring shampoo or body wash. It's there. Get a room mid ship if you feel you are going to have a problem with sea sickness. Had a room aft, and heard the engines upon getting into ports, and it was a bit more rocky

Great little near by shops. Kind of like small stalls. Each one is different and you can bargain with them too. Just make sure you get more than one thing and see if they will combine for a lower deal.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Get your walking shoes on or have them get you a shuttle from the ship to the town area. It is a LONG walk to the shopping area.

I would have reported the smokers, as it is against all cruise lines policies to smoke on your balcony, as it is a fire hazard. As for staff speaking a foreign language---lol--that's because staff is from all over the world!

Well, as far as the ship's crew not speaking very good English, remember, this is a foreign registered ship (Panama) and not a US flagged vessel. The smoking issue is another matter altogether. Not only is it a nuisance, but a fire at sea is a very dangerous thing. I know this from first hand experience. I'd go to the captain if I had to.
