Review summary

Nickel and dimed, maybe it was just the Carnival economy cruise we went on but for instance we had to interrupt our meals several times to swipe our cuise card for a capaccino or every time the kid wanted a coke, why not do it at the end or are they afraid we'll bolt from the dining room w/o paying.  Food was marginal drinks were way overpriced.  I ate an extra desert everynite to reciprocate for the ungodly drink prices thanks for the 5lbs I gained Carnival. On the last day after following instructions we ate breakfast before the posted 9 am deadline.  My son stayed in the room and at 8:30 the cleaning staff kicked him out of the room with all our carryon so the cleaning staff could get a 30 minute jump on cleaning.  When we got back to the cabin no one knew where he or the carry on was and really seem to care, luckily he did not leave the ship.

Ship tip

We didn't have trouble with sea sickness, didn't know what to expect since wife often gets vertigo. Bring plenty of liquids + container for ice, power strip. The overhead bunk was awkward, the room map seemed to show it off to one side but it was directly overhead. I only smacked my head 3 times.

Don't listen to the mean commenters on here. I did months of research and the ecstasy was still a giant disappointment. People are "loyal" to the most classless cruiseline yet wonder why others think poorly of these same people who are continuously defending this line at all costs, demeaning your honest review and trying to brush you off like your complaints are invalid. Give me a break people. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion.

So you're blaming the cruise line for your weight gain?!? Wowzers

obviously cruising isn't for you. Go stay at the US beach next time where you still have to pay for the meal as well as the soda.

Couple of tips here: -Carnival lets each passenger bring 12 cans of a soft drink and each passenger over 21 can bring 1 bottle of wine. These must be in your carryon. -Do you fault Disney the same way you fault Carnival for charging for everything? -Being a natural night owl, not a morning person, I'm with you on how early you have to leave the cabin when you disembark. However, remember that when you boarded the ship, you can start boarding around 11. EVERYONE has to be off the ship before they can start boarding for the next cruise.

Welcome to cruising. On all of the cruise lines they swipe your card when ordering a beverage. As far as leaving your room yes 8/8:30 you must leave your room on debarkation day so they can turn the room over for the next cruise a couple of hours later. It just sounds as if you didn't research but it's like this on ALL Cruise Lines.
