Review summary

The cruise started off rocky-ship delayed 5 hours. Departure scheduled at 4pm but departed at 10:30pm. They gave us a $15 credit to cover our lunch but where do you eat in Charleston for $15? Should have been $50+ for loss of time on ship & sitting in my car 3 hours waiting to be dropped off. Seas rough & guess we were going faster than normal-pretty rough but was not sure this was the norm due to my first cruise. Some folks were sick but fortunately not me!

But let me just say once on the ship it was wonderful. Great service-wonderful food & entertainment-the MOST COMFORTABLE BED & PILLOWS EVER!!

I'm already planning my next cruise!!

Great service & everyone were so friendly!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship very clean but dated. Beds were very comfortable but window sill rusted & leaking.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Need to paint & seal the window-leaking at times. TV's need an upgrade.

Ship tip

If it is your first cruise-book your shore excursions through Carnival-you will have less worry if there are issues whether you may not get back to ship on time. Next trip you will be more familiar to do the bookings elsewhere.

Sorry your first cruise was off to a rough start but settled down so you could have fun and enjoy your cruise.

P.S.   Rough sea's is when you get rolled out of bed.  I have had that a couple times.

Cruises this time of year tend to be rough. Last February took a cruise out of chas which was booked a year in advanced. Few months prior they switched ships schedules and the day we embarked actually went to ecstasy rather than fantasy ( which we booked) lost 8 hrs cause we're to leave at 4 but changed it to 11 pm.(left at 1230) I complained so much to carnival prior, they gave me $50 obc. Told them, casino would not be opened, no shows etc. lots of lost fun!

The seas are rougher coming out of Charleston than FL ports.
