Review summary

This was my first cruise with Carnival and it was not comparable in any way, shape, or form to the other cruises I've taken on Norwegian and Disney. The food was seriously awful. I am NOT a picky eater but this stuff was really bad. Casseroles with crumbled saltine crackers ontop, sour milk, bad deserts, ice cold hot dog buns, and very minimal selection.  Yuck. The ship had rust spots all over it inside and out and the cabin looked abused! the bathroom had mold and grime in the crevices - it was gross.  The crew just kept their heads down and did their work, not friendly or fun, just "there".  They looked tired and overworked.  This was the complete opposite of the Norwegian cruise I took where there was so much variety in foods, tables were cleared and cleaned immediately, and the crew was super upbeat and friendly.  If this had been my first cruise I would not go on another one, thankfully I had a great experience with Norwegian and have booked my next vacation with them.

Bunk bed ladders were rusty. Bathroom had mold in the corners and on the clothes line. Towels were stained. Yuck!

Ship tip

Don't bother. Go on another cruise line

Why would anyone go on a cruise that it is over 25 years old. That really confuses me. Did you expected to have all of the best features?

Well said Ocean Sky

Ecstasy ship is a training boat all the newbies work on this ship. Carnival should really let people know this before they book especially if it's their first time cruising with carnival.

There are bad reviews on every ship out there. I believe many are exaggerated. That's my opinion.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I cruised on Ecstasy last year and had a blast... Although it was our first cruise so I have nothing to compare too lol

I'm going on ncl in 3 weeks. I'm excited for something different. & I really want to take my son on a Disney Cruise next year! I may have more fun than him lol

Guess some just have outrageous expectations. I've never experienced anything like you described on any of my cruises with carnival. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but some people are little more pretentious than others! Enjoy Disney and Norwegian!!

Ever heard the saying, "you get what you pay for"?

LOL, I don't need fancy, but I would like edible and appealing food, clean surroundings and a friendly crew please.  You don't have to be rich to be clean.  And the other cruise I went on was actually cheaper!  This one was in the summer time though and the previous one was over Thanksgiving so I'm sure that has something to do with it.  On the upside, the cabins on this ship were larger than on the other ship I cruised on.

The Ecstasy is an old ship. Not one the best at all. But don't give on Carnival. They have a lot of great ships and awesome staff
