Review summary

Loved it. 1st time cruiser, and the Ecstasy had it all. The food was always good and there was plenty of it. If you love to eat good food at all hours of the day (mmm midnight buffet) and like cocktails without the worry of having to drive home then taking a cruise on Ecstasy is for you. You can pick and choose which activities you want to take part in. They had a hairy chest contest, dance classes, bingo, and much more.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Its was like a fine dinning experience every night in the dinning room. The food was all good except one steak that was a bit tough.....that is my only complaint for the entire cruise.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We played bingo, enjoyed the adult comedy club, and one of the lounges. The farewell show needed some work I think. The 1st show we saw was much better. All in all very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very awesome staff that are always there to help. The matre'd called us by our names.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was so well kept and clean. The decor did remind me of a casino, but it worked for the ship. The ship is small in comparison to others but i think that could be a good thing; you really got taken care of. Our room was cleaned at least 2 times a day if not more.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was a lot bigger than I expected, we had just a normal stateroom with a window looking out. We were mid ship and I never heard anyone while we were in the room except for toilet flushes from next door. Quieter than most hotels. The middle of the ship was less turbulent then other areas of the ship.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We went to Passion Island, it is a private island that has the best mexican buffet + open bar! You could get a massage on the beach if you would like. We booked through a private company not through carnival. We had to take 2 taxis and a boat to get to the island. We didn't know that we would be alone for the ride there. Probably not the wisest thing to do for two women, but we came out ok. The beach was paradise....it looked like the most beautiful white sand beach postcard. We loved it! We only wish we had another day for shopping, the town of Cozumel is definitely built for that. Everything in town is so well kept...it looks like paradise everywhere you turn. There was even a Starbucks. I don't know why I was surprised to see that all the way down in the Yucatan.
Don't Miss: The beaches and shopping!

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
The actual ruins in Progresso are very impressive they are a 30 min bus ride away. The ruins do not offer any shade and I don't recommend going there during the hot months of summer.....it was hot in mid April! There is a place to go swimming once your tour is over, in the large cenote in the middle of everything....very beautiful. The town of Progresso it's self is quite depressing; it is a new port and the tour guide said they hope to one day be like cozumel. It's a little scary when you see the border cops with their automatic firearms in the back of trucks. We did not get off the bus and try the local cuisine. You did have the option.
Don't Miss: The Mayan ruins

Pros: The ship was very clean and well organized.

Cons: We were paired with older people in the dinning hall. We didn't have much in common with them.

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? Yes!
