Overall, the ship's entertainment options, staff, and the stateroom quality were great. Everyone was nice and friendly. In terms of food, we were disappointed at the lack of options for vegetarians/vegans, especially desserts. It's a bit sad to miss out on all those cakes (for vegans)!

The shopping in Cozumel is great. Lots of shops (some sanctioned by Carnival). The beaches are nice; lots of things to do.
Don't Miss: The beaches

The local shopping in Progreso is nice. Merida is a nice place, though parts are very 'modernized' (i.e. Home Depot, Sam's Club, McDonald's, etc.). The history of Progreso/Merida/Yucatan is rich.
Don't Miss: Any of the ruins

Pros: The friendly environment, lots of entertainment options on board, comfy stateroom

Cons: Culinary options for vegetarians

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? Yes!
