My First Cruise

Sail Date: August 31, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We sailed on the Ecstasy out of Galveston since we live in Texas and could just drive to the port. This was our first cruise and we went with an open mind. The ship was really beautiful, the meals were elegant, the food was great. We had a wonderful experience. One unexpected result was the making of new friendships with our dinner companions.

Pros: The ship, activities, dinner, employees, towel animals

Cons: prressure to drink

Service and Staff
We were impressed when the room steward and the waiter knew our names. They always had a smile and a willingness to do whatever would make our trip more enjoyable.
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
The shopping was sketchy, the town was dirty and a bit scary. We quickly went back to the ship.
Don't Miss: Probably the tours
