Review summary

We had a family of 7 including a 4 year old girl. Everyone had a wonderful time. We had first time cruisers and experienced cruisers (over 6 cruises on 3 different cruise lines). Two of us had been on this same ship several years before. They had excellent activities for the 4 year old. She loved going to her "school" every day and wanted to go more often than we wanted to take her. Food and entertainment were first class as we have experienced as usual on a Carnival ship. We all went to different shore excursions according to our interests. You can stay as busy or as relaxed as you care to. Gamble or sleep. Read or shop. Keep whatever hours you want to. There is food available at any time of day or night. AS GOOD A TIME AS YOU WANT!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
It could not have been any better. Our waiter was from Poland and was the most talented and gracious server we have ever had. He is a new father of triplets and is anxious to return home in another month before he transfers to a ship cruising in European waters-closer to home.

Entertainment

What ever your interests-it's available.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
This is the first time I had ever been on a cruise with a child. My 4 year old grandaughter loved her cruise. Instead of taking her on a shore excusion which she would not have enjoyed, she stayed on board with the childrens 2-5 age group and watched movies, napped, ate lunch, learned songs, made a "Build a Bear Workshop" cuddle toy, etc. She loved her "school" each day. My daughter got to have a break from child care and also had a great trip. She had a pager to be reached by the staff at any time if needed. Worked well!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I did not experience a single negative person on board during this cruise. Even the newest room attendant would smile and say hello as we walked by him in the hallway while he was folding towels!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
One of Carnival's Fantasy class ships. Has about 2100 guests and 900 crew from 60 countries. They are starting to respond to accessiblity issues and we saw several people with walkers or scooters. Wide wheelchairs and people who can not transfer out of their wheelchairs would not work yet, however. The ship was kept clean and has a lot of room.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We get the smallest inside stateroom to make our cruise more affordable. We only use our stateroom to shower and rest so we don't personally care about a view. We are on deck or shore whenever we want to see the outside.

Ports of call

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

5 out of 5
Read up a little before you go and then you can do whatever interests you. Or you can enjoy a mostly empty ship while everyone else goes ashore!
Don't Miss: History buffs, go see Chichen-Itza ruins!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Read up in advance and then pursue your interests. Any watersport is amazing in the clear blue water and on the white sandy beaches. If you have never snorkeled and can physically do so, you will never forget it!
Don't Miss: Shopping and watersports

Pros: Awesome food, activities, personnel

Cons: Wish it was longer
