Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Only eat in the buffet area do to menu in dining room was not kid friendly. Other restaurants cost extra for being all inclusive. Guys hamburger where the bomb as well as the pizza place!!!
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Only 2 very small pools, numerous whirlpools for adults on the children were pushed out of the pools by the adults who are drinking. Children really did not get to swim. Basketball courts closed at 5:00pm, no real out side activities. Putt putt golf was being fixed during this cruise.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Saw USA rock which was really good. Saw “We work here” that was not very good. Most venues where to small to enjoy.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The ship had different age group programs. 0-11, 12-14, and then the older students. The groups should be re vamped. 10-14 should be together. 5th grades are now placed in middle school. My grandchildren felt they where treated like babies by the activities being offered to them in the 0-11 yr olds
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Very nice employees, except for some personal in guest services. Don’t report issues because they don’t take care of issue.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
This ship is very disorganized in the layout. No venue big enough for number of passengers. ship was as clean as expected for the number passengers on the ship of over 4000
Cabin / Stateroom

Room was nice, could not use balcony the whole week due to sewage smell. reported to cleaning crew, guest services, to managers. We were told the smell will go away. The balcony was disinfected on the very last day of our cruise. Could not be in room on the last day due to crew going in and out of room which caused the inside of the room to smell like sewage as well. I asked for the difference between a state room and a balcony room since could not use balcony. Guest services refuse to compensate. We were unable to enjoy our room the last day or night due to room smelling.
Ship tip
Research the age of the ship and don’t book balcony. State rooms are bigger and much better.
We had a great time on carnival Dream. Our kids love the clubs. The smaller age groups per club is what we like. If you have two kids in different clubs you can always ask if your kids can be together. We have in the past. Thanks for sharing
Yeah, the sewage smell is a problem on balcony rooms. Make sure you bring your own disinfectant spray to keep it from smelling. It helped me last time I went on it.
I’m not sure if you know this but next time in the MDR request a children’s menu. This menu has quite a few things that may interest your children. Any one of any age can order off of this menu as well.
Usually the complaints about the pools go the other way, with Adults complaining about the children being in the whirlpools. The pools seem to always be crowded regardless.
Happy cruising.
I cruise the Dream occasionally but have not experienced any issues. I have it booked for next year. It’s an older ship but that’s ok. Fun is how you make it!
