Review summary

Good cruise but I am becoming a ship snob. The Dream was small and needed a refresh.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Got there after 1:00 so the crowd was gone, pretty easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Was pleasantly surprised that they had lobster on the 6 day cruise. Prime rib and lobster, pretty nice. Nice that you can get two lobster tails if you want. Unlike RC where it is one per person.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Older ship so limited options. Also crowded at spring break. Punchliner comedy was good. The Karaoke and piano bar were often overflowing. The 80’s and Rock shows were good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Very solid. Steward was great as were most the wait staff.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Dream needs a refresh. The decor is pretty poor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Basic inside, worked fine. Beds were good. Midship was nice. Seventh floor is nice too as only a couple up or down to anything. Rarely used the elevators.

Ship tip

Don’t know how people cruise without magnetic hooks to hang things in their room.

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Really like Roatan. We always use Victor Borden, great, reliable. The monkeys and sloths are getting old but West Bay is always great. Love the snorkeling.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Love Cozumel. Almost always scuba dive, we had a great dive this trip.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Not my favorite, limited options. The ruins are good. Booked through Native Choice, they did well.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
No issues if your whole party has a passport.

Not a cruise snob. The Dream is starting to look tired. It's a good ship tho, thanks for the review

Agreed that magnets are so incredibly helpful for hanging items on the walls. Really maximizes use of space. Sorry to hear Dream is looking tired. We are on sister ship soon and can’t wait to see what she looks like even though we know it will be older. Thanks for the tip about tour operator in Costa Maya!

As a new ship snob, you now need to book all your cruises on Ponant to avoid the common riffraff.
