Review summary

Nice getaway and I did not have to cook for a week. 😜

Embarkation

Very well organized and smooth. We got there a little early and there was no line to speak of. Process was super quick and everyone was very helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We thought the options on the buffet line were good and there is always something that I just love. My dad is more critical and he wanted bacon and mashed potatoes every day instead of every other day. πŸ€” We ate at main restaurant twice. Once was excellent with some of the best steaks ever and the other not so much.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Water slides were fun. We only used them on one day because the weather was a little cool for us on the other days. The miniature golf course was fun.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Loved the Cats Trio violinists. Saw a couple of comedians, one was great and the other so so. Evening shows were average at best overall. The first production show was very good. We also went to some variety shows that left something to be desired. Second production show had to be turned into a singing show because of rough seas so that the performers would not stumble on stage.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Over all everyone was always friendly and very helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean overall. Not the newest ship but it was nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Inside standard cabin. Nothing special here. Wish the stool was a chair with a back just for comfort but I guess they don’t expect you to hang out in your room. Our cabin steward was wonderful. We did have issues with hot water the first night but it was resolved by the second day.

Ship tip

Try the pizza and a burger from Guys. Both are great!!!

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We took a bus tour that showed us a little of the island. Part of it was strictly a sales stop with little value to show us anything other than to sell rum cakes but we did enjoy the tour overall. We stopped at an amazingly beautiful beach were we had enough time to dip our feet in the water and feel the sand between our toes. This was my favorite part of the tour.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We only walked off the ship here and purchased some souvenirs. People were very friendly.

Galveston, Texas

Disembarkation

Process was quicker than expected. We went to breakfast early and then carried our own luggage. Everything went very smoothly. With the facial recognition for customs we never had to stand in line during the entire process.

I also took the bus tour in Nassau. We also went to Junkanoo Beach, but my favorite part was the Queen's Staircase.
