Review summary

This was the first leg of our back to back on Dream. We loved it because we missed cruising. Other than some updates and entertainment updates we had and amazing time

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Carnival has this down in Galveston. With the new COVID protocols in place you need to stick to your boarding time but once our time slot arrived we went from sidewalk to ship in 20-30 min.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
There are some changes to the dining room menus and it’s a bit confusing. Our food was ok, it didn’t seem to be the same as previous cruises before the shutdown. But the restart could the reason.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I personally think it’s time to revamp the playlist shows. They’re old and getting boring. Our cruise the playlist cast wasn’t great. Mediocre singers and dancers. The other entertainment was great. The ship rockband was amazing as was the other solid acts

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Fantastic as always and they’re so happy to be working and seeing cruisers

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean. The protocols ensure this as you see multiple crew walking around wiping everything down constantly. Dream needs a refurbishment. She’s old and it’s starting to show

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect. Sevrie was our attendant and he was amazing! Best one we’ve ever had

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

2 out of 5
Unless you leave the port there is nothing. It’s just an industrial port location for the ship to stop and a few shops

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
We enjoy Galveston. We live in Texas so it’s an easy 6 hour drive. Also a very easy and organized port to bird a ship from

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Absolutely beautiful!

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Lots of construction right now as they update the cruise port. Shopping easy to get to and lots of choices

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again very easy compared to pre covid. The express debark was done by muster station versus floor number. We were off the ship in 15 min from our station call. Checked bags are the same as before
