Review summary

The cruise would have been really good if it weren't for the fact that we had to turn back on the second day and miss Cozumel which was half of the reason we wanted to go on this cruise. Then the fact that carnival doesn't even give substantial reimbursement is ridiculous. There should have been some sort of on board credit given. At the bare minimum guests could receive 50$ of on board credit. I will not be cruising with carnival anymore due to this experience.

Well sounds as if nothing went right doing your cruise. Maybe you should consider it might be you that's causing you not to have a good time. Relax enjoy the cruise and any family and friends you might be with. Remember it's a vacation Live, Love and Laugh, that's what it's all about.

Be thankful the medical emergency was not for anyone in your party. While I would hate to miss a port, I am thankful that Carnival put the health of their passengers above anything else. You are blessed and fortunate to be able to cruise! Enjoy life and don’t sweat the small stuff.

Why should you receive OBC. You were still on the ship and taking full use of the facilities and food. You did receive a 20% discount on a future cruise with Carnival that I guess you won’t be taking advantage as well as the port fees. As said before all cruise lines have the same information in the cruise documents you sign before the cruise about missing a port. Have been on a number of cruises where we missed a port for a variety of reasons. Roll with the flow.

What's so good about this is that you were not the one who had the emergency,a missed island is not a real problem, Ill health is.I hope you will get the change to visit the missed island in the future!

This happens alot. The normally refund port fees but that's all. All cruise lines have this in their contracts. If it's a medical emergency this will happen.

Sorry you were disappointed. Cruise ports are missed for variety of reasons on all cruise lines - medical, mechanical, political, weather or other issues. The cruise contract everyone agrees to when booking states that the ports and itinerary are not guaranteed and can be changed for any reason. Safety of the passengers will always come first. If a specific port is of importance to you, always get a good travel insurance policy that will compensate you for a missed port or itinerary change. The best way to see a specific location is to fly / drive there directly rather than depending on a cruise ship to get you there.
