Review summary

I was very upset that we were unable to travel to Cozumel, because that was the area that I was looking forward to seeing the most. From everyone that has been on a similar cruise before, they said that Cozumel is the reason you go on the cruise, and Progreso is the rougher, poorer area that most people don't get off the ship for.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was very quick and orderly. Very lax security, kind of confusing about where to drop off luggage.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good, it was a lot of the same stuff, and the pasta and things that changed daily were lacking in flavor.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We drank, danced, hung out, went to the deck party, it was lots of fun. We also went to the hut tubs and the Serenity bar and lounging area, which were really nice and relaxing.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Very good djs, lots of good music.

Children's Programs

I dont have kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very kind, nice, answered questions, etc.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very outdated decor, most areas were kept clean for the most part.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was always really clean and nice to stay in, I enjoyed the layout, but the king bed was just two twins pushed together so it was hard to be in the middle. The decor was also very old school.

Ship tip

Wander around the ship before you do anything, cuz there are a lot of places hidden behind other places (like The Song bar is tucked away in a corner behind the casino bar and past the piano bar)

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
We just got on the boat.

Cozumel, Mexico Did not visit port

Because there was a medical emergency and we had to turn back to Galveston and then go straight to Progreso.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

2 out of 5
Very low income area, kind of sketchy, it was nice to be on a beach tho.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It took much longer than anticipated, there should have been two disembarkation doors open the whole time instead of opening a second door two hours after starting disembarkation.

If you must go somewhere to enjoy your cruise, then you should fly there. Things happen on cruises that can make you miss a port.

Sorry you didn’t get to visit Cozumel but the ship doesn’t have control of some things. We take the good with the bad and make the best of it.

Cruised the dream in May of last year, first cruise out of Galveston for the dream. First night a guy had a heart attack. Cruise ship had to turn around and head back towards Galveston and the coast guard picked the patient up. Then we were back on course. Unfortunately things happen like that. We were delayed about 3 hours to our first port because of that but they allowed us to stay longer there.

Sometimes things happen that causes changes in itinerary, the cruise line cannot have control over all of this,II hope your next cruise will not disappoint!
