Review summary

Fun 5-day trip. P.S. Galveston is a SMALL port, so BEWARE the luggage staff and ever-present Texas ABC enforcement means they PROBABLY WILL find that bottle you normally get to sneak on in luggage thru other ports like Miami or Ft, Lauderdale. Lost a $50 bottle of Patron personally :(

Enjoyed the basics, with personal emphasis on deck lounging / Serenity area and casino. Casino needs better air circulation and venting (even the smokers / former smokers among us said yuk!)

Cabin was typical Carnival, but well kept, not physical problems. Balcony adequate, connected with our friends next door for a little more wiggle room. Good bedding & comfort topper. No noise mid-ship and sandwiched between other cabin decks. Easy access mid or fwd elevator banks.

Been several times, we know our way to where we want to go. We did excursion booked ourselves to save a couple $$$$ compared to similar Carnival plan.

Not much happening, saw small ruins, missed Cenote because of algae / bird droppings / human yuk. Beach club was pleasant but SMALL.

First time I went on a cruise was in Galveston. I had a wonderful trip but the port Police were bully's. Treated people like they were leaving a club drunk at the end of the night. I was personally bullied threatening me with jail. Just trying to load my suitcases. I'm a Houston native and I will never leave out of Galveston ever again. I'm on my 5th trip now and will always prefer New Orleans. Never Galveston.

Dude! Galveston is the 4th busiest cruise port in the Country. I think that rates as "major port". Most are going to be more concerned with the airport connection issues over how new and shiny the building is.

We sailed out of Galveston in 17 and it’s small and somewhat industrial. They are investing and trying to make it better. As far as your bottle goes, why did you try to smuggle it in the first place...?
