Review summary

This cruise was a wonderful experience! This my husband first cruise (my third), and while I was worried if he would enjoy it, he did! The Dream is a marvelous ship with much to explore!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The ship was prompt and orderly! The embarkation was swift and diligent.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The wide selection and variety of the food on board was grand! The only criticism I have is the wait time for the more popular items (Mongolian Wok, Guys, and Blue Cantina). However, it is to be expected on a large ship.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the pools and whirlpools; however, it was difficult to find an area to place our items, while enjoying the water

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The musicians/DJs and other performers were wonderful! The motor city stage show was my favorite, and the singers were adequate.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
In the main dining room, our staff ( Abriana, Juan, and Sastra) were absolutely phenomenal! They greeted us by name not only during our dining hours, but also when we saw them on their other duties. The staff knew our drinks, and were very accommodating to our every need; even when I was being extra or particular on what I wanted to eat. This team not only deserves the recognition of being a wonderful waiting crew, but also they deserve the compensation that goes along with their diligent and attentive efforts. Vera is another staff member of mention. Going on this trip, I was worried my husband would be hesitant on the cruise, since he had fears of open water and being in confined spaces. He is not normally welcoming of new experiences; however, Vera was such a wonderful addition to our trip. She made the experience not only by entertaining him, but also being friendly, talkative, and efficient in her duties. I, personally, found her to be a wonderful part of our experience as well. She truly made our a honeymoon a memorable week. Our room attendant Henry was also a great steward. The fact that most team members refer you by name is a very personal touch. It strengthens the customer service the ship provides.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The mattresses were a little uncomfortable, but overall the cabin was roomie with plenty or closet and drawer space

Ship tip

Listen to the advice your wait staff gives you on show times and dinner

Ports of call

Montego Bay, Jamaica

We went on the Appleton Estate Rum Tour. All I can say is WOW. The ride to the estate was adventurous (small winding roads), but the thrill was worth it! The rum was great, the tour very educational, and the food delicious!

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Sting Ray City is a MUST! The water is so beautiful, and while the water was choppy, kissing a sting ray AND wading with sea turtles at the widelife conservation center was phenomenal!

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
The excursion to the ancient city of Tulum was magnificent! The sights were very beautiful, the tour educational, and the company was great! The only downfall were the pricing of food at the place (more expense than Mexican food in GA where we are from) and the continuous sales from our tour guide. The items he was selling were great, but he presented them in a false manner, so many didn’t buy them.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
There was nothing to it!
