Will not be going on Carnival again. The room experience was complete disappointment and unhealthy. All but a few staff that I mentioned we rude or acted like they did not understand you. They acted like they did not want to be there or deal with the passengers. I planned this trip over a year ago and could not wait. I am do disappointed.

Food and Dining

The food was not good at all in the buffet. On elegant night all of our steaks were over cooked. Mine was sliced down the center and then in half, then shoved back together to look like a complete steak. My Huevos Rancheros had several chicken bones in it that I started to choke on.
We purchased the drink package which I feel was a complete scam. When you drink the allotted amount of drinks for the day they ring a bell and tell you are done for the day and treat you like a drunk. I drank 15 drinks over a period of 17 hours. By law I could drive a car when consuming i drink an hour. It made no sense that I could not by a drink after I used my drink package up.
Onboard Activities

The pool area was ok but there were several hair balls on the deck. I did like how many hot tubs there were.
Entertainment

I have been on several cruises and this by far had the worst show line up. The music was good but was the same night after night. The shows were not anything like Norwegian cruise line.
Service and Staff

I can count on one hand the staff that were pleasant. The other staff were flat out rude or could not speak English. I personally would like to give a thank you to Valentino from the main dining room, Diana from the Casino, Jonathan the manager from the gift shop, and the staff from the Frog bar by the pool. Diana is the only staff member the entire week that actually asked me how my day was when I first saw her while we were washing our hands in the bathroom. She was the only person on the entire ship that actually seemed to care other than just doing her job.
Ship Quality

The ship itself was fine.
Cabin / Stateroom

Words cannot explain the disgusting and disappointment in our room. It started with a broken drawer that was sitting crooked. There was a sock from the previous passenger on the floor that at first I thought was my child's so I picked it up and put it on my counter. I opened it up later that night and discovered it did not belong to any of us. How gross is that. The glass shelves in the bathroom were in need of attention. Our carpet was definitely not vacuumed and also had gross stains all over the place. I tried to ignore it however on the second night when I went to get in bed and accidentally pulled just the top sheet back instead of the top sheet, blanket and bottom sheet I could not believe my eyes. There was blood and brown spots on my blanket. I wanted to vomit. I ended up throwing everything on the floor and could not sleep. I went to guest services and filled out a complaint. The staff was quick to act on the bedding and called later that day to say they deep cleaned it. I had to tell them that the carpet still looked bad. They sent someone to inspect it and they too saw all the debris on the floor along with the stains. The next day they did clean the carpet. A few days later when we returned to the ship from the island the plumbing was backing up into our bathrooms and causing a sewer smell. I had to call to get this taken care of as well. I did not even bother to complain about the broken very dirty curtains or the mattress that you could see a huge lump in and caused severe neck pain to my fiance. We actually flipped the mattress ourselves to try and make it better.
I’ve been on 8 carnival cruises... going on number 9 on the dream in 37 days... carnival has never caused a problem for me! I’ve been on the dream once before and it was a blast... I’m not saying that you’re speaking nonsense but I personally do not believe some of the things you said. Carnival is a wonderful family friendly cruise line that is nothing but love and FUN! Everyone has their own takes about a cruise or a cruise line, but carnival is by far the best. I think if you would’ve been a little more positive about this cruise you could’ve made it great even with the setbacks. No need for negativity on vacation! Sorry to hear about this bad experience but I’ve never had a problem with carnival nor do I intend to have one.
Dont complain about pools...have you seen anyone getting out of the pool to pee??? I guess everyone likes to be in a community toilet bowl. I have been on 17 Carnival cruises and haven't been in a pool yet. Dont care to swim in everyones pee. Going on Dream in 133 days, just got off Vista and always enjoy myself.
I’m so glad happy, experienced cruisers chimed in. It’s reassuring that this is an isolated incident. When it rains on your parade, grab an umbrella! I’m so excited for my first cruise on The Dream!!
Complain much? Sounds like guest services took your complaints seriously and tried to make you happy. You realize those people on the ship you seem to not appreciate work their ass off so you can sit around and drink your ass off? Speaking of that, maybe you should read all the details before purchasing something next time. Carnival clearly states there is a limit on the drink package right on their website.
this is sad to read we will be on the Dream in March..I have never read such bad review. Im so sorry that happened to you and it is concerning for mine coming..geesh!
