We love the DREAM. Each cruise is a different experience. We met some great people on this trip and look forward to our next Carnival Cruise.
Embarkation

I like the new timed check in. Our check in quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was a little better than our last cruise. We enjoyed our dining room experiences most.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We love the option of 2 pools and multiple hot tubs, seems to keep the congestion down. Serenity was usually easy to find a chair and a nice quiet area with no smoking. I know Alex the Cruise Director is new but he wasn't really our favorite. Most of his events ran over due to him talking or explaining too much. He seemed nice and fun but we had the Flying Scotsman last cruise and that is a very hard act to follow.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The Main Entertainment is mediocre. We really enjoyed the live music in the Atrium every day. The "string" ladies and the "horn" gentlemen were top notch. Very unusual that most people were crowded in the atrium area when either group was playing. There is a huge scheduling conflict with set dining times and the comedians and main show. The comedians that joined the ship mid week seemed to have a bit of attitude about being on a cruise ship. We went to the early shows and they both were looking at their watches and both mentioned that they weren't sure how to do an early (PG) show. It kinda killed the show for those of us watching. We felt like we were a bother to them. (the comedy show is usually a highlight and always funny but the Punchliner should really look for some new talent) PS this was a Halloween Cruise and we loved that everyone was dressed up and having a great time.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff all seemed to be having a great time. Our cabin steward was not one of the best but she was friendly and kind, just didn't seem to have an interest in her job. Our dining room staff was awesome. Wesly our head waiter, Wirata our team waiter and Jimmy our team waiter made our dinner great. We were at a large table with 3 other couples. Wesly and Jimmy took great care of us and knew what we wanted before we did. Wirata is quiet but so efficient, we never wanted for anything. Also, during our dinner we had a young lady from the staff sing "Proud Mary" what a show. She was amazing. I am so sorry I forgot her name I think it was Constance?? I am so sorry it was the Scarlet Dining Room and she said she was the only one by her name on the staff.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We love the layout of the Dream. It seemed clean and well maintained to us.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cove balcony is a very unique room. If you or your travel partner love to be close to the water action this is the room for you. The room is laid out the same as other rooms but the balcony has small walls and leaves a picture window type balcony. It was smooth but the salt spray is real :) Each morning we had to be careful not to lean on the rail or we were covered with white salt (not a huge deal but different than an upper balcony) Room 2298 had some noise (we think maybe unsecured walkway below us it was just occasional banging or scraping) not enough to cause us to want a different room this trip. We love the second floor because it is a great walkway to the front or back of the ship without obstacles. It is also easy for departure on port days. All in all we enjoyed the Cove Balcony but will try an upper balcony next trip.
Ship tip
There is an amazing Italian Restaurant hidden above the buffet, finding it is worth the trouble. Also, go early and watch the cooking demo.
We have cruised from NOLA several times. This was our first time to stat the night before. We enjoyed walking down town and felt safe. It was Halloween so lots of costumes and people.
Love this port. Very beautiful. We walked about 1 mile and ended up at a restaurant that has a dive shop in the parking lot. We rented snorkel equipment and walked right down the steps to a reef and great fun. We could see the restaurant and the cruise ships from our snorkel area. Also, lots of beautiful fish and underwater plants. We haven't snorkeled before so it was easy and fun and cheap. ($25/person for all the equipment) There were experienced snorkelers there and they were also having a great time.
We always love Cozumel. It is great fun. This trip we went to Mr Sancho's. It was easy to catch a taxi and go to this all inclusive resort. Beautiful beaches, water sports, personal waitstaff, great food, 2 swim up pools, massages and so much more.
This is one of our easiest disembarkations. Alex the Cruise Director announced that if your floor wasn't called you were "forbidden" from the atrium. This seemed to help make things move easier. Enjoy breakfast in the dining room and then take off at your appointed time.
