Review summary
The Carnival Dream is a fun ship! I felt relaxed and rejuvenated the whole time. Our room was clean and spacious, there is a TON of stuff to do on board, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We went to Cozumel, Belize City, and Roatan. Cozumel was a bit sketchy, and the locals are pushy. Belize City was a lot of fun, and so colorful! I am madly in love with Roatan because the beach is amazing, the water is warm, and the locals are super friendly. The shops are plentiful in all ports. We didn't go on any excursions because since it was our first cruise we didn't know what to expect, and I'm glad we didn't, because it gave us a chance to leisurely explore the port stress free. I'm sure we will check out some excursions next time though! I went to the spa and got a manicure and pedicure while I was there, and the pedicure was fantastic, but my French tip nails turned brownish yellow a day after I had them done (without any explanation other than I used hand sanitizer once or twice, which I had never had a problem with before). I went back and the nail tech put on a top coat of a pale pink color to mask the yellow color, which worked at first, but then they turned yellow and brown again after I got into one of the hot tubs. They also peeled off later that night. I'm bummed about that, but I didn't let it out a cloud over my trip. I would just be weary of getting your nails done there. Our cruise was caught up in tropical storm Alberto on the way home, and I'm not going to lie, it was really rough. But I have to give props to the captain for keeping us passengers thoroughly informed of the upcoming conditions, and what his plan to try and bypass it was. He did a fantastic job trudging through that storm and giving us as smooth a ride as he possibly could. The staff seemed unphased and that made me feel better, Haha! All in all, the Carnival Dream was my dream vacation, and I loved every second of the cruise! I will definitely sail with Carnival again!Embarkation
