Review summary

Had a blast, but will never return to Jamaica! If there is another port to chose from, Carnival should chose another port, or stop going there all together. It’s not safe and it’s drug infested. Grand Cayman and Cozumel was very nice!!!

I’ll never visit Jamaica again. Couldn’t walk five feet without someone either begging for money or asking me to buy weed. It was VERY dirty & had needles laying around as we exiting the ship. There was no entertainment. Our taxi forced us to pay for round trip & said they’d be back to get us, but did not return, so we paid for a round trip, plus paid for another taxi to bring us back to ship.

Cozumel, Mexico

This was my third time visiting Cozumel. The port by Three Amigos is nice, clean, and friendly staff. The taxi ride from port to Mr Sanchos was safe and enjoyable. Mr Sanchos was wonderful. I shall return.

We went to Jamaica once & we went way in the slum areas up in the mountains , but we were with people who were from Jamaica (who are military, as so are we) & we had the best time ever. We ate at this hole in the wall road side grill & had the best jerk chicken, pork, fish ever & the best music & drinks. I would do it again.

@elvis, just stick to a Carnival excursion and you will be fine.

We went to Montego Bay several years ago and enjoyed our excursion, but I did notice the vendors/peddlers at the port were kind of “gruff” compared to other ports I’ve been to. I would def stick to a Carnival excursion going there and I’d pick a different itinerary over that one.

It’s a gorgeous island, very poor and they can appear aggressive but unfortunately this is true of many places when traveling. Book an excursion to feel safer many people love this island
