Review summary

We had a lot of fun. If we ever do another cruise, we may travel at a different time of the year. This week was very busy and there were a lot of children. However, we enjoyed our dinner, the piano bar, and the service and people. Those are what really made the trip for us. We could do without all the promotional activities. We do wish there were more fun activities and less "seminar type" activities.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very easy. We were on the boat quickly and the luggage arrived to our rooms promptly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I personally was not a huge fan of the food on the lido deck. Also, I think there could be a few more vegetarian options available. Once the buffet closed, the only places were the pizza and burger place. That's pretty tough for a hungry vegetarian. The main dinning room was our favorite experience by far! We absolutely loved Thomas and Jamil! They were absolutely amazing. If we were to cruise again I would have to insist on sitting at their table again. They quickly learned our names and what we liked. They are the best on the ship.

Sam's Piano Bar

5 out of 5

This was our favorite spot. Ben was hilarious and so entertaining. We are still singing the songs from the piano bar 5 days post cruise. Sam's Piano Bar also brought a lot of people together as new friends. Arif (the bartender) was very nice and very good considering how busy the bar would get. He never missed a beat. They have a great team in the Piano Bar.

The Crimson Restaurant

5 out of 5

We had Thomas and Jamil as our waiters in the Crimson Restaurant and they were perfect!!!! They are so nice, funny, and just all around good people. We were so sad to leave the last night because we enjoyed our dinning experience with them so much! I would give them an infinite amount of gold stars if possible.

Burgundy Aft Lounge

5 out of 5

We went to this bar to see the PG comedy each night and the adult comedy the first couple of nights. The comedian on the last night during the PG show was very funny. We often had Sunil as our server in the Burgundy Lounge. He was very nice and new us after the first night. He always made a point to say hi to us when we walked in.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did go to the gym and spa. The massages we had at the spa were incredible! That was absolutely perfect. The gym was very nice but I do wish there was bottled water available there in the gym area.

Pool

2 out of 5

I was not a fan of the Lido deck. The music was way too loud. In my opinion, I think the Lido needs more umbrellas, and the music needs to be turned down about 20 notches. It was hard to relax or talk to my family with the volume of music. It seemed to be even louder during the Caribbean sounds with Delano.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We did see Motor City the first night and it was okay... just not our style. Our kids watched Flick which they said was the best show. We only saw a few bits of it and it looked very good. We did choose the Piano Bar over the shows each night though so we did not get to see many.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Our youngest, 9 years old, went to camp ocean the first day but she preferred doing the adult activities with us. Our teenagers did enjoy Club O2 and went to a few activities there. If camp ocean had more activities like Club O2, our youngest may have enjoyed it more.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All were wonderful. Our room steward (Tina?) was very nice. She was always near the room and spoke to us when we left for dinner. They have already been mentioned but Thomas and Jamil (Crimson Restaurant), Sumil (Burgundy Lounge) and Arif (Piano Bar) were all great!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was clean and seemed well-maintained. The ship was very easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Both cabins were more that what we expected. There was a lot more room that we initially though which was a nice surprise! The Jacuzzi tub in the room was a great bonus! I really was shocked with the spaciousness of the room and the amenities. It exceeded our expectations.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
We like New Orleans and just enjoyed walking around the city. No specific excursions.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

3 out of 5
We took a private tour to the Blue Hole. This was a little too lengthy with a 2 1/2 hour drive and traffic coming back in was very backed up.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We did another private excursion here as well since we do not like big crowds. We did snorkeling, starfish point, and stingray city. This was our favorite port of all. Wish we had a bit more time to fit in other activities in Grand Cayman.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We always love Mexico. This was the easiest port to get off and on the boat. We just went to a beach this day (Paradise Beach). In the future, we may opt for a more local beach (less touristy) but our kids did enjoy the floats and beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We disembarked at 6:45am. This was very easy and quick at this time.
