Hoping my next cruise will be on a different ship . Hoping the Carnival Dream fixes some of the issues I mention for other guests.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Lido buffet Same food everyday a change of meat only was changed on the menu each day but all other sides never changed including desserts. Nothing new to eat for 7 days. If you have the bottomeless bubble package -please know there is no soda machines in any of the dining areas. You have to go to a bar to get a soda and have to wait in line until they get done mixing drinks for others which takes a long time when there are several waiting for drinks which is all the time. Only juice, tea , water and coffee in the dinning areas. The tea is nothing but brown water no flavor. The bottomless bubble package is pointless because of the wait to get a soda. All dinning areas are not open 24/7 after breakfast the buffets shut down and opens up at lunch just for the deli part and serves a few options to eat not much to pick from. Guys Hamburger is good but the line is endless to get one. The eatery should be in a larger section of the boat to hold all the people eating rather that one small area of the lido pool deck. Be prepared to wait in line for a burger. Main dinning room is good but small portions to eat. The service is wonderful and the songs the waiters sings are so cute and entertaining. The food is very good.
Jackpot Bar
5 out of 5
This bar in the casino was the fastest bar on the ship to get a mixed drink or a soda. The downside is the entire casino smells like smoke. The bar is the only place you can smoke unless you are at the machines playing. Service is wonderful and the people are very sweet. The bar tenders can mix any drink you can think of and taste awesome.
Onboard Activities

All hot tubs stayed full and both pools was always full. Only got in the hot tub once with the least amount of bathers of 5 others I seen the entire time. ALWAYS Full .
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainment was awesome. The flying scottsmen is a major asset to this ship. The stage entertainers are really good and love their job . The had wonderful shows and the comedy shows were awesome as well .
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Had plenty of clubs but not much activity . The club for age 12 to 15 was a room with a few games and one attendant at times on duty and did little to keep them entertained. It was basically a room for kids to hang out.
Circle C
3 out of 5
Not much to do for kids. Only a room for kids to hang out in together.
Service and Staff

No waiters on outside decks hardly. Deck 5 outside area on both sides of the ship no waiters ever come to take any drink orders you only see the ship personnel cleaning up after everyone non stop. You have to get up and stand in line to get a soda or a mixed drink . We stayed on deck 11 aft most of the time and only seen one waiter come to that deck to take a order once. The smoking area is on the back left side facing the back and we was always there and had to walk down the stairs to the bar by the aft pool and ask for drinks then tote them back up. I even ask the ship personnel who kept the aft 11 deck clean ALL the time.. He was a great employee could he ask someone to come take a order and he did and they never came. The attendant walked by several times asking if they ever come and no one did. The last day of the cruise the pool area was full and both decks was full. Only then was 1 waiter walking around taking orders. On a 7 day trip we walked and climbed steps getting out own drinks so much we should have stayed at work and we tip very well . The Aft pool bar tenders aren't very friendly at all they act like they could care less if they were there and don't get in any hurry serving people. Only one older Bartender who also worked in the casino bar was friendly and tried to help as fast as he could. ROOM STEWARDS- We had a amazing steward his name was Noordam. This guy was awesome with cleaning and VERY helpful if you needed anything. The steward was SO NICE and cheerful and friendly it was unreal. Carnival is lucky to have such an employee. We watched him with other guests and he was so nice to everyone and did anything he could to make your stay on his floor perfect. He was a hard worker and a clean freak. We had to call him every evening to ask him to let our bed down because we wanted it up everyday for room to sit on the couch. Even when he was off duty in which we did not know until the last night on the ship by another attendant that his shift ended at 8pm at night. We called him at 9 to 10 at night and he never told us he wasn't on duty. Noordam came to the room with a cheerful smile on his face and let the bed down for us. The last night of the cruise we found out he was off at 8 every night and we felt bad for calling him on his time off but we didn't know. Noordam never complained and always answered his calls. Noordam should be in management somewhere on that ship. I can not brag on him enough we LOVED him and the kids really LOVED him . If carnival reads this Please let him know we REALLY appreciated his hard work and his cheerfulness during our stay on this floor. We give him a 10 and hope we have him again on another cruise.. Please don't let him go anywhere .

Cabin / Stateroom

Cleanliness was a 10. The comfort was ok the beds were hard -not to comfy. The size of the room was to small even with it being a balcony room. It was tight with 4 people in the room.
Ship tip
Be prepared to serve your self if you want drinks on the outside decks and in the lounges . Not enough waiters.
No what I have seen on TV. No beach access with in walking distance . You are shipped in on a small boat to walk around gift shops on a port area. No pretty areas around the area but other boats at the boat docks. I won't be visiting this port again
Took our own bags off and was on deck 9. The ship closes off certain elevators for the Prime -Gold members on the boat to use them only. All the normal paying people like us had to walk down stairs with our luggage to the gangway to exit with never ending lines to leave. Total mess.. took 2.5 hours to exit the ship
Sounds like you are not a cruiser and shouldn’t cruise. All the things you complained about are going to happen on a cruise. Never heard about elevators for certain people I know they use certain elevators for luggage.
So many negative comments and negative posts. Are you sure cruising is for you?? It just seems like it's not a good fit for your particular personality
Cruising isn’t for everyone!
Was this your first cruise? Sounds like it may have been. I have been on the Dream twice and it is one of my favorite ships!!!
Food & Dining - Every ship makes you get your sodas from the bar, not just the Dream. The reason is because sodas cost extra, if they had machines everywhere then anyone could get them! Not sure if you’re aware, but each guest is allowed to bring a 12-pack of soda onboard. That could save you from waiting in line next time :) As for the MDR portions, you can order as much food as you want. If it’s not enough they’ll gladly bring you more!
Cabin - You can look up the dimensions of the rooms prior to booking, but remember they have to fit 3,000+ people on these ships so the rooms aren’t going to be huge...unless you book suites!
Service & Staff - Carnival has made huge cut backs so I think you’ll find lots of people that will agree with you here. It is much harder to find bar service on the decks. It seems more often you have to go to the bar yourself. Annoying!! Also, I hope you tipped Noordam extra!! ;)
