Review summary

We would definitely book a cruise out of New Orleans again! The Dream was an excellent ship with great staff and food! Our next cruise will definitely be with Carnival!

It was a great port to leave from, not a lot of fuss and security was really friendly. Traveling with an insulin pump always poses some problems from security but they were all very friendly to work with, much better than TSA!

My husband and I book this cruise is a one year anniversary trip following a rough year and we wanted somewhere we could drive easily from Iowa to. The Carnival Dream is a nice ship we really didn't have any complaints about it or the cruise staff. The food at the main dining restaurant or it was absolutely delicious and the Guy Fieri restaurants and the Cantina restaurant were probably our favorite on the ship. Great flavor and the tortillas made on the boat were absolutely delicious.

Our cabin Steward was excellent he kept our room clean and was very attentive. I asked for a Sharps container he almost immediately brought it back for me and our room is far bigger than we ever expected it to be having a balcony was a nice plus as well. The balcony is definitely worth the extra cost!

Our excursion was cancelled due to rough seas. The port was nice and we ended up going back to the ship for lunch and to relax in the hot tubs.

Our snorkel excursion was excellent, however we didn't make it to the mainland due to time restraints. The boats are unable to dock in Belize so the boats used tender boats

I would recommend booking an excursion at this port. We made it a beach day because we were under the understanding there was places to snorkel around the port and there are not so it was definitely a let down. We will definitely do some sort of excursion if we go back. It was beautiful scenery though!
