Review summary

We considered the cruise very poor for many reasons expanded upon above. we wont be back to Carnival. Just to many screw ups and poor judgment by Captain and company that ruined our cruise and tours. Also there was essentially no entertainment for the older crowd. The Scots, Chris, was oriented for the young crowd with hip hop music and games. Also too many activities in smoking areas.

There were few activities or entertainment for middle and older people. What rock climbing? wrong ship. The young scot man led most of the entertainment for the younger hip hop group. Also, too many activities in smoking areas.

we had very good service from the waiters, stewards and food serving people. A special praise should go to Eka Wahyini and Soviawan Putu for their superb work in the dining hall.

Room was much too small with only one chair and no couch. Will never buy an inside again.

Ship tip

Not to sail on carnival. We missed stopping at Belize and missed our excursion at Cosomel because we got in late and didnt make the tour in time. I think the carnival company and ship Captain was afraid and the company overreacted. This cost us money for new airline tickets and lost 2 excursion we paid for. You wont get another chance with us.

Lots of confusion and we had considerable trouble getting our baggage tags to for bags to be transported from outside our room to the port area.

Hate to hear about your negative experience. We love to cruise. However, we Never book from July to November due to rain potential and hurricane season. Many ports are missed due to rough weather during those months. You may want to try sailing at a different time. I hope you find a cruiseline that you love. Cruising truly is a great way to see new places while you relax and enjoy the voyage.

My dad taught me that the cruise is what you make it out to be, the rooms are small because the only reason to be in one is to get ready or sleep.

We have enjoyed Royal the few times we've done them. But it is a much older demographic overall. Not much going on after 9-10pm. I'm not dead yet so enjoy the funship line better.

Royal Caribbean would be more tour speed. Carnival is for more entertainment rc is for more laid back and lounge around.

As a smoker, there are a few places we could smoke, the casino, deck 11 aft and somewhere else on deck 5. I mainly smoked in the casino and deck 11. Can't please everyone.

You loss my attention after "poor judgement from the CAPTAIN". You should have made it very clear at guest services that you are an expert at "cruise ship captaining" and they would have let you go replace that "dud" and steer the "boat".

We've never had issues on the Dream with smoking and I am extremely anti smoking. Both times we've been on the Dream it was confined to the smoking area and the casino so we just stayed out of those areas.

If you are a,non smoker this is not the cruise for you. I have cruised the Dream 2 times and this last time there was smoking everywhere. Nothing was enforced, young kids in hot tubs not attended to,zero dress code. I am laid back but this push the limits. our neighbors were horrible . 4 adults one room-- lots of drinking smoking cussing and fighting. No consideration that they were not the only ones on the ship.

Seems like the only things wrong with the cruise was all staterooms-typical of inside cabin, entertainment (I am elderly and found some entertainment for myself-I travelled with younger people and had fun the shows in theatre were good. 4 cruises (3 Carnival, 1 Norwegian

Well, Carnival as a cruise company is oriented towards the young energetic crowd. Try Royal Caribbean or Holland America. If port decisions were made due to hurricane damage, they might not have been able to choose differently.
