Review summary

Our first cruise was a very good experience. We loved the fun and freedom you have to do your own thing on the ship. My husband is a big foodie so he was disappointing with the food. Other than that we had a great cruise and will plan again in the future.

Embarkation

Emabarkment was easy and quick process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was OK the dining room was nice but the servings were small for my husbands big appetite. The buffet seemed like it served the same things everyday. Guys burgers was great , the pizza place was ok they need to not skimp on the cheese. I got tired of eating the same thing for 7 days and so did my children. We got the bubbles package and in the end I felt like it was a waste of money. We didn't drink that much soda. The ice tea and lemonade was fine to drink. The water taste like pool water.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We had fun with all the on board activities. However, the pool on the LIdo deck the music was always at blaring levels. It was impossible to relax when you have to scream at the person sitting next to you to have a conversation. Also it would have been nice to have a more variety of music. The line dancing and rap music is fun but sometimes some easy listening, classic rock, country, jazz, is nice to listen to. Fun relaxing times at the pool is good too.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The flying scottsman was super fun and got the audience engaged!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service is excellent! Kurt was a steward and he did a great job. My family's cabin was always clean and well stocked. Thank you Kurt you rock!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I always saw people cleaning but my whole family got a raging cold when we got home. The upper respiratory stuff is the pits!

Cabin / Stateroom

Combined cabins were perfect for our family of 6.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Love NOLA!

Montego Bay, Jamaica

2 out of 5
The island is dirty and they take advantage of you if you are a white family. Our family of 6 was charged $120 for an all day bus tour (which I have to say I feared for my life several times with the way the bus driver drove) and a family of 12 African American who we shared the bus with were only charged $60 (total BS). The beach they took us to was dirty and kinda of gross, The shops offered 50% off but tried to charge us full price when we went to the cash register (nice try lady), The only positive thing I can say about this experience is at least we gave our money to the locals, who clearly need all the financial help they can get. I will not visit this port ever again. Such a disappointment.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Loved Grand Cayman! Loved stingray City and the coral garden. It was truly the highlight of our vacation!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
I love everything about Mexico and Cozumel did not disappoint. We went to Mr. Sancho's for the day and were treating like royalty. Cozumel we will be back to see you soon.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was smooth and much faster than I expected.
