Review summary

There were a few hitches to this cruise but overall I enjoyed myself so it was okay. The excursions were great and the people were welcoming. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the ship and the steward entering our cabin without giving us a chance to call out or answer the door.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation wasn't bad at all. I was surprised at how fast the lines were moving. The only thing was that no one told us where to drop our luggage off so we went through the embarkation rolling our luggage around!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The ship's main dining room was nicely decorated and the wait staff was pleasant. I was disappointed that the ship just had plain Lipton and green teas. No variety at all. Also, there was too much pork and barely any alternatives.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools were fine but some of the whirlpools were closed. There are thousands of people on board. Carnival should know more people would like to cool off and not be on top of each other in their small pool. More of the saunas should have been open.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The entertainers were just okay. Some of them weren't very talented. Some could sing better than others and it was just an odd mismatch of talent.

Children's Programs

Don't have any young children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service staff was fine. The only thing is my steward needed to get into my room. He knocked once and immediately entered my room without waiting for a response and he did that twice! Also, my cabin wasn't cleaned well at all.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The common areas could have been cleaner.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Besides the cleanliness, the cabin was fine. The beds were comfortable. There wasn't much closet space though as we had 4 suitcases worth of clothes so the clothes stayed in the suitcases most of the time.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This was my favorite port. The people were friendly and the weather was great. The guide, Kelly, gave tons of interesting information!

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
We had fun in Belize. The locals were friendly.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We wanted to go horseback riding but it was raining and therefore too dangerous for the horses so we took a tour around Cozumel. Our tour guide, Bernardo, was very friendly and fed us with a wealth of information and recommendations. He even explained the political unease of some parts of the island.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We waited so long to disembark from the ship. It was no fun at all!
