Review summary

We LOVED it! We will definitely be going again and hopefully on the Carnival DREAM! Everything about our week was wonderful-- the food, the excursions, the process of getting on and off...

Embarkation

We felt like the embarkation process was pretty smooth. We were on the ship in about an hour from the time we walked up to the line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

AMAZING! We enjoyed the buffets and specialty restaurants but especially loved our service in the Scarlet Dining Room with our waiters. The food was spectacular! We ate in the Chef's Steakhouse on Monday night and that food was amazing also!

There were so many different things to do you could stay busy all the time if you want.

Everyone was so nice and friendly. They all truly seemed to love their work and did it with a smile!

Cabin / Stateroom

Bigger than we expected...the balcony was nice. Our cabin steward did a great job keeping our room clean and the towel animals were so fun! Our only complaint would be that the bed was pretty hard...not super comfortable--by the end of the week, my husband's back was really bothering him.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

My favorite! Beautiful port! Great excursion--we did the Maya Key Private Island...we snorkeled and swam, we ate a buffet meal and had a couple of drinks and then we laid on the beach and relaxed! It was the best!

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
We enjoyed Belize more than we expected. We had heard it was hot and scary ;) But we did a bus tour through the city out to the Altun Ha Maya Ruins. Our guide, Gus, told us all about the city and the culture. Then at the ruins, Anna took over and told us all about the ruins and the Mayan culture. Afterwards, we went on a cruise up the Belize River (River Wallace). It was good but a little long...we saw monkeys, bats, and MANATEE! It was pretty cool!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did a snorkel excursion along the 2nd largest reef in the world and it was so much fun! Our guide, Jean, took us out and after he made us fresh guacamole! Then we did a tequila tasting and had chicken fajitas for lunch. The fajitas weren't great-- just chicken, onion and peppers with tortillas-- no salsa, no cheese or anything else and we had to buy our own drinks to go with it. I would recommend the excursion however because of the rest...

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived in port early and they let us disembark before our original scheduled time. We expected to not be off and going until close to 9:00 and we were in the car headed home by 7:45ish...It was super easy!

If not a single complaint, I would have no problem repeating same ship or even same cruise. Then, always the option of trying something new (for comparison only).
