Most of the cruise was excellent--but the balcony issue really messed up a lot of our enjoyment. not being able to enjoy our balcony due to its being over a heavily trafficked hot tub, and the resultant drunken rowdies really messed up the cruise. carnival personnel refused to get involved, saying we needed to talk to . First time using them, probably the last.

Cabin / Stateroom

This was what really disappointed me in the cruise, and is the reason I will NOT be using in the future. My wife and I are frequent cruisers, and we book balcony staterooms(paying a premium for that) and our balcony was located on the 6th floor, DIRECTLY above a 5th floor hot tub. So, instead of being to enjoy a calming, relaxing ocean balcony, we instead, we were subjected to a non stop(like 9 Am through 11 PM) crew of drunken LOUD folks in the Hot Tub, DIRECTLY under our balcony. We rarely use it due to this, and it really ruined what, in the past 7 cruises, has been a major part of why we take these cruises.
Ship tip
If you book a balcony, ask to make sure you are NOT on the side of the ship that has them over the hot tubs, or the heavily trafficked areas.
GREATEST ! Great food, entertainment, EZ to get around in, Stretcars /trolleys take you everywhere, people couldn't be nicer, saw music, music, points of interest, an dof course, teh foood@! Oh My GoD!
Nice--Basically, like Half moon Cay on the Pride out of Baltimore, a Carnival party island, but a lot of fun. Water was kinda murky and warm, but lot of fun in the MB area, and the chair lift to the party area was great fun.
But again it's your choice to book that location. I totally agree with the fact that drunk people are annoying as heck but if you choose that location it's on you not the cruise line. I'm not going to book a room near the kids club and then complain about the kids. That's crazy.
In defense of the op. They have grand suits on deck 7 right above the hot tubs on deck 5. I would be livid if I booked a grand suite just to have a bunch of load drunks in a hot tube just below my balcony!!
I don't think you should be upset with Carnival about drunk people on a ship that serves alcohol using a public hot tub, below a balcony state room that YOU choose. IJS
