Review summary
First of all, our experience in booking the cruise through was excellent in all respects, but the cruise itself was disappointing. We had cruised Carnival in excess of 20 times prior to this cruise, and are Plantium in Carnival's VIFP Club. 20 friends and relatives had booked this cruise, and we decided to join them, and looked forward to it for months. It became apparent almost immediately that the service and amenities on Carnival are not what we had experienced in the past. The cabin steward acted like it was a chore to service the cabin. It took until day 3 for him to bring a sharps container for my husband's insulin needles, and we had to request glasses for the bathroom - took 2 days. Getting the ice bucket filled also seemed to be a chore for him. On the Lido deck the first morning, all of the tables were filled with dirty dishes. Everyone was sliding dirty dishes out of the way, to sit and eat in one little corner of a table. As Platinum guests, Carnival gave us a tray of strawberries on the first formal night. It was delivered to our cabin, and the strawberries were inedible -- mushy and starting to mold! There are no more chocolates on the pillow at night, and if you want the cabin freshened up more than once a day, you have to request it. Dining room food was good with a nice selection, and the Pasta Bella for lunch was delightful. The ports were a lot of fun, and we went on tours in 2 ports out of the 3. We booked our tours outside of Carnival and had a great experience with both. In the 3rd port, we went sightseeing on our own. The embarkation process was excellent, which made up for the debarkation process being the worst ever! Again, I want to stress that did an excellent job in handling the booking arrangements, and I want to give a special thanks to Angela Dawson for her exceptional customer service.

Ship tip
Lunch in Pasta Bella is wonderful. You order the type of pasta you want, the sauce you want, garlic bread, salad, etc., and they bring it to your table. This is located in a nice little area on Deck 11 -- you will find the stairs at the back end of buffet on Deck 10.
