Good time, not great

Sail Date: June 05, 2010

Room Type: Inside

Carnival's newest ship does not offer anything special in comparison to other cruise lines. The price was fair and the service was great. We have traveled Carnival and Royal a few times and have come to the conclusion that Royal is the better value.

Cons on the Dream:
It smelled of sewage in some spots on the boat.
The boat is bigger *130,000 tons, but it appears as though all they have added is more cabins. You would think they would offer something special that other cruise lines can't compete with.
The auditorium was always full so if you did not get there at least 30 minutes early you were standing or missing the show all together.

Comedy club
Carnival service

Pros: The islands visited on this trip

Cons: The smell of sewage in the hallway!

Recommends Carnival Dream? No.

Children's Programs
My son was bored, activities were mundane and repetitive.
Food and Dining
Food was great, sit down dinner offered wide variety
Ship Quality
areas of the boat smelled like sewage, decor was nothing special and the layout is the same as all other Carnival boats.
Shows were average at best, ship lacked variety for the amount of passengers on the boat
Cabin / Stateroom
Typical Stateroom, nothing special
Service and Staff
Staff was excellent as usual
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Negotiate with the cab driver. We got a nice tour of the island for 20 bucks each.
Don't Miss: Paradise Point
Nassau, Bahamas
Atlantis was awesome but pricey. Have a cab take you over and pick and choose what you want to do. Buying on the boat was way too expensive.
Don't Miss: Atlantis waterpark
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Jeep tour was great. Beach area was very clean and we spent plenty of time there.
Don't Miss: Discover St. Maarten by Jeep
