Poor customer service when ship broke

Sail Date: March 12, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship itself was good
Entertainment was almost non existent
Food in buffet was the same every day
Very poor service when a propeller broke - no senior staff to tell passengers what was happening
At 5.00 p.m. of day of disembarkation we still did not know where we were staying that night or when we would be flying out. We missed our original flights.
Carnival covered the cost of two nights in a hotel and arranged new flights but we still have not received a refund for the money we spent on food, or any compensation for the vacation days lost at work.

Pros: Ports of call

Cons: Food was boring in buffet

Dominica
Very helpful people and good trip by taxi into the rain forest for the morning. The whale watching trip we booked from the ship was postponed from 9.45 to 1.00 and then a dive catamaran came at 2.00. By this time they had decided not to charge us - jsut as well as we only saw two porpoises and the catamaran's engines started smoking badly and we limped back to their dock and had to be bussed back to the ship.
Oranjestad, Aruba
We hired a car and had a quick drive one way and then went to the other end of the island which was where the tourists were. Great snorkelling off the beach at the tip of the island and then we spent the afternoon on a beautiful beach.
Don't Miss: The beaches
Bridgetown, Barbados
We got a taxi to Payne's Bay and swam out outselves with our own snorkel equipment to see the turtles. Fantastic.

Only one decent beach which costs to get into. We hired a car to find two other recommended beaches - Saffire we couldn't get to/find and the other was very small.
