I’ve done several short cruises out of Charleston which have never been an issue. This cruise seemed to be more of a booze cruise. The casino stayed full. We had several rude neighbors, door slamming, loud voices and even a couple having an hour long argument at 4am on their balcony in their room and even in the hallway.😡
Embarkation

We arrived later in the day at 12:30 and walked right on.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We always go with anytime dining. We found that the food was much better quality the earlier we went. We cruise often and are very familiar with the dishes. We usually eat late, but this time we ate early and I will say the food was better than normal.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We really enjoyed the adults only pool. We didn’t have any trouble getting a deck chair at either pool, but we really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere at the adults only pool.
The casino suffered from some hiccups this cruise. We had one dealer that made a few mistakes back to back causing everyone to leave her table. and one shuffling machine kept jamming (3 times in 30 min) causing for long waits for play and a few hands that were scrapped causing everyone to leave that table. The hub app didn’t keep track of any of my points the entire cruise and I was told it was glitching.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
They only show we hadn’t seen was the 80’s hits show and we were excited to see it. The singing would qualify as decent kareokoe at best. We enjoyed the song choices and sang along but the talent isn’t the same as on the newer bigger ships. It was entertaining I guess but I wouldn’t sit through it again. Love and marriage is always our favorite and as usual it didn’t disappoint. The three couples were entertaining and the cruise director kept the fun going with the questions and their answers.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We always find of you treat the staff well you get treated well. We are polite, respectful and tip extra. The service we receive is never a problem, but I will say drinks in the casino can take a while….. there just isn’t enough staff to go around. We always sail on casino deals that include free drinks “while actively playing” and we still buy the drink package so we can stop at the bar and grab a drink before we sit down because I don’t want to wait 30 min for a drink.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We love a smaller ship because they are easy to navigate. The conquest is older, but she is kept clean. There are some maitenence issues that need to be addressed, but overall she is a decent ship for her age.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was clean but needs some repairs. The clothes line in the shower was broken, both our shampoo and body wash was labeled “shampoo”. The balcony door doesn’t seal well even when using the slide lock and the wind whistling kept me up a few nights.
This was a hot mess! We signed up for the earliest self assist time because we had a flight to catch. We were unable to disembark at 7:15 because there was a fire alarm going off in the terminal and they had to evacuate and investigate. (I’m not upset about that I know things happen that are out of peoples control). It was 9:30 before disembark started and it was a free for all, that’s what I’m upset about. They started letting people off before the announcement was made that we were cleared and they didn’t call groups in the order we signed up. By the time they made the announcement the line was super long (we technically should have been the first group off) and we ended up missing our flight.
I’m sorry you missed your flight but you had such a great attitude about the whole thing. I feel you on the noisy neighbors. Imagine what it’s like living next to them all the time 🤦🏻♀️
Appreciate your feedback. Sorry you missed your flight. That can put a damper on the whole experience but add the loud neighbors…Glad you managed to find some good in your cruise.
Sorry about the rude passengers. The shorter cruises tend to have more drunk and rude passengers. Seems many people don’t know how to act in public anymore.
Tharsxwhatbi just posted to another shipmate. She was going on a 4 day Carnival cruise and wanted to know what her kids could do. I told her I heard the short 3 and 4 day cruises are booze cruises.
