Review summary

Don’t waste your money on this rust bucket of a ship. Carnival used to be the best….beds made twice a day and chocolate on the pillow, your wish is our command attitude. Wow how far they have sunk. After exclusivity sailing carnival for well over a decade my next one will definitely NOT be on carnival. Hope corporate is happy with all the cuts because the guest are not.

Staff was great but selection was awful. Lines for everything were outrageous, why can’t they open up all the Buffett bars? 30min wait was the minimum.

Waited and waited to get off just like I had to wait in long lines for every thing for 4 days. I just want to get off this awful ship. I’m surprised you don’t have to wait in line for the bathroom.

I think it’s hard when you have been spoiled in the past to accept the new changes. I still love cruising in this age. We were spoiled by a terrific cabin steward our first Princess cruise. The second Princess cruise steward did not spoil us at all. In fact it was difficult to even get our room done at all. I ate so much deserts at the buffet and Gelato stand, I couldn’t handle any chocolates on the pillow.😂😂 Thanks for sharing your experience here with us.

Most of those perks left pre Covid. Who the heck needs their bed made 2x a day?!?

I don't go on cruises to look for the bad but to appreciate the fact that I am able to cruise while some are not. Be thankful for the small things on life.

I dont need turn down service, cause I'm a big boy and can do it myself. Only Princess, from my cruising experience, put chocolates on the pillow, and it wasn't a deal breaker if they stopped. Cruised on the Conquest years ago, wasn't a bad cruise, but wasn't a stand out either. A cruise experience is what you make of it, and if you are going on a older ship, just to see what's wrong so you can post your pettiness on this app, then you're missing out on what cruising is all about.

I love the Conquest. Been on it 2 times and will go on it again when I can. A chocolate on your pillow? 🙄 big deal you didn't get a chocolate. You must not cruise often because I never got a chocolate on any ship. It's not that big a deal

I still love cruising but I agree I wish Carnival did not cut so many small things. Some of them made it magical. Thanks for sharing

I'm going on this again in December. 😳 Free cruise though so just gonna relax.

Chocolates have been eliminated from all cruise lines with very few special exemptions. If you were a frequent cruiser you would have known this.

We loved the Conquest but we were on before Covid and haven't been since so I can't say how every cruiseline has been but I have heard that many have gone down hill. And I would expect things like that to happen especially with all the money the cruiselines lost and they are all in need of more workers. So I don't want to burst your bubble... but try another cruiseline but you'll probably have the same experience. Even so, cruising is still the best vacation ever!

Appreciate your view

If you don't remember the chocolates left on the pillow at turndown, then you'll definitely not remember the skeet shooting off the back of the ship with a shotgun.Talk about cutbacks!

Once a day cleaning fine for us and prefer in the evening since we like to sleep in most sea days. I do miss the chocolates on the pillow but only from a nostalgia standpoint. Great thing about cruising is there are so many different cruise lines to choose from.

I agree in some aspects. I love conquest so don't agree on that. The turn down service never bothered me and I've cruised carnival since 2011. Never once got chocolate on my pillow lol. But a lot has gone down hill. I still enjoy cruising though, but last carnival cruise the food was all horrible. We're giving it one more chance. All lines have cutbacks. Sounds like a lot of staffing shortages still.

I wouldn’t expect much from a ship that was launched 21 years ago.

I am so glad so many people disagree with You. We have always loved the Conquest.

Move to another cruise line and I think you’ll find roughly the same. NCL have also removed turndown service, and I’m ok with that as long as I still get my cabin cleaned once a day, it’s hardly end of the world. Never had a chocolate on my pillow on any cruise and think I can live with that too!

Will be on this ship for a 14 day journey cruise in January. Looking forward to it. We make memories on every ship.

Cruising may not be for you.

diamondplus4lyf    1 year ago

Many cruiselines have cut back the same way. If you are expecting to cruise like you are used to, you will be disappointed.

A lot has changed in 4 years since you have cruised. Sorry you were disappointed.
