Other aspects of the cruise and ship, overall I thought the ship was very clean, the service is good, they are all so friendly. When you are sitting on the pool deck, you rarely have to wait 5-10 mins for someone to come around and ask you for a drink, or for someone to take your plates or glasses. We did Afternoon Tea during our Sea Day, it was okay, nice to sit and relax and have a good cup of tea, cake and sandwiches. Overall it was a great cruise, if you are looking for value for money, no frills, fun cruise, this is your ideal cruise ship and itinerary.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
My boarding group was C04, with a boarding time of 11-11:30am, I arrived at the Carnival terminal around 10:30am and immediately went to check in. It was a very quick process (having already completed using Verifly App) both check in and security. We were both amazed to see that the waiting area was virtually empty!!! When we arrived in the area, they had began calling groups A and B, no sooner had we sat down (around 5 mins later) our boarding group was called and we were able to board! Overall is was less then 30 mins from arriving at the port to embarkation!!
Once onboard, we did our muster drill, which I know since COVID its a lot easier, but I wouldn’t mind Carnival following other cruise lines like Royal and having it shown on your sitateroom TV. Anyways its a quick and easy process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Buffet and main dining room always good! Our first night we dined in the main dining room (we were seated in the Monet Restaurant and chose the late dining option, around 8:15pm). The food was very good, very tasty, as I have experienced on other Carnival ships. The service was amazing as well, our server Yoga, was very attentive and friendly, and it always amazes me, they can remember everyone’s names and what they like to drink!!

Henri’s nightclub on this ship, I was very impressed with, DJ Noir was amazing, his selection of music here and on the deck was great!! Stephan our cruise director, was good as well, very engaging with everyone on board. We only watched 1 show during this cruise, “80s to the Max” it was amazing!!! I can’t rave enough about it, music selection, the performers, it was so entertaining!!! We watched the famous Carnival “Love and Marriage” show as well, which is always a good laugh.
Service and Staff

Our Stateroom Steward immediately came to introduce himself, gave us his business card, and asked us when we preferred to have our room made up, he was fantastic!!! Every time he saw us, he checked in on us, and asked us if we needed anything! Great service!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was actually much bigger then our room on the Sunrise, it was clean and comfortable, and great value for money. We had 2 twin beds pushed together which was fine! Room comes with all the usual cabin amenities; 2 nightstands, vanity, safe, fridge, 3 closets with plenty of space. Bathroom is basic, but that was fine, that’s all we need. Plenty of storage in the bathroom as well, the shower was great, I am 6ft 3in and I had plenty of room to move around, water was also very HOT as well, which is always appreciated!!

Ship tip
Try to board early, and navigate your way around! It’s a great ship!
Our first port of call was Key West, from 7:30am to 1:30pm. We had breakfast at the buffet, which was good, lines moved very quickly, and the service was good. We had no shore excursions booked, so we decided to explore the city on our own. We exited the ship around 8am, and we wanted to take a picture at the Southernmost Point statue. There are free buses/trolleys in Key West but my husband and I decided to walk, it took us around 20mins. It’s a beautiful walk, lots of beautiful houses, and watch out for the chickens!!! It was Halloween week during this cruise, and the Key West residents really decorated their homes and businesses, it was fun to look at as well.
If you want a picture at the statue, my biggest thing is to GO EARLY!!!!! We arrived around 830am, and thank goodness the line was short, only around 5 mins to wait to take a picture. We walked back to the ship, through Duvall Street, its such a nice street, lots of shops, restaurants, and bars.
Second port of call was Cozumel, Mexico, we arrived later in the morning, around 10:30am, Carnival Breeze, Celebrity Infinity, Grandeur of the Seas, and MSC Seashore were all in port as well. It was extremely hot that day, so we walked around for only a short while, its around a 5-1pm in walk from the ship, lots of cute little shops, bars and restaurants, as well as 2 duty free shops as well. Vendors were very friendly, no one harassed us for a sale. There was a Marachi band playing as well. Cozumel is a cute little port, next time we will purchase some excursions, I’m sure there’s much more to explore there.
