Review summary

Based on this experience I cannot say I will cruise Carnival again. The Conquest needs to be remodeled and brought up to modern standards. The wait staff was incredibly rude and though trying to keep an open mind and positive attitude this trip didn't add that special moment we hoped for our anniversary.

Embarkation

From the moment we got on line for screening the vibes shifted. Not one person greeted us when embarking on the Conquest.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I am giving 3 stars because we dined at The Point Steakhouse and that was phenomenal but besides this the food just meh. Dry fish, cold main courses, and no one to care.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The conquest has 1 water slide which is heavily dated and could use some freshening up. No other facilities were enjoyed. Pools are small and not cleaned often enough for us to enjoy.

Entertainment

Piano Bar - the man whom is to be the piano man was horrible. Rude and seem bothered by our presence and request. All he did was complain. He could not perform songs in more than one rhythm and butchered the request. Son y Sabor - great live performance as well as Live Bands in the art lobby throughout. DJs on Lido deck played a good array of music but at Henris club there was no mix.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Rude. I understand the industry is made up of mostly foreigners but being fluent and knowing basic English terms are not the same. Lots of miscommunication or just blatant disregard from wait staff. We were never given morning, afternoon, night salutations. When asking something or for a request it was followed by a Smile and ok then never saw them again. When addressing our anniversary issue and supposed vouchers to guest services I was told to reference my Carnival Hub which showed nothing then given a champagne bottle to go away.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Exposed railing poles in forward staircase, buckling decks causing for plenty of trips during the trip. Stateroom walls scuffed. The design of the Renoir dining top level made for a very awkward dinner where people would just walk through floor while you're trying to have a decent dinner.

Cabin / Stateroom

Size was adequate to other cruise stays. Plenty of closet space.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We did Dolphin Encounter excursion advertised as 5hrs but misleading. You will disembark ship and be on line until 930a if youre lucky arrive at Blue Lagoon Island around 10a to find out your excursion time. Ours was at 11a so we thought we would have plenty of time to enjoy other amenities included but that was not the case. We (Carnival) had to leave by 1p back to port. Our dolphin encounter though priceless was a mere 15mintues. Between lines for photos and wanting to enjoy a little of the beach we had no lunch, no adventure water area time. It was all rushed. Nassau is under construction.

Disembarkation

Chaotic. Decks were called to disembark but once you exited elevator you were in line stuck with nowhere to move. People did not know which line was for what with people pushing as they continued coming off elevators.
