All the food I had on board was very good. Ate breakfast & dinner each night in the main, Monet dinning room. Had lunch in the buffet, or the Seafood Shack or Guys Burger Joint. All were very good. The Lobster Roll from the Seafood Shack was delicious. The fish & chips could have used a little more salt.
Pizza from the Pizza Pirate was good as well, for late night snacks. Just wish they had more food options open late.
Also found that Carnival does not stock any of their bars with Amaretto. The only drink I wanted was an Amaretto Sour, but couldn’t get it.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
3 out of 5
First cruise I went on that didn’t have any “shows” in the main theater. They had some events in the theater, but no shows. Moved the comedian’s to the theater on the last night.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff I encountered on the cruise were very polite and had no problems with any of the crew. Room steward knew me by name before we’d even met. He greeted me by name as I was walking down the hallway towards my cabin on the first day.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was very clean. Especially for a ship over 20 years old. As this was going to be the oldest ship I’d been on, I was pleasantly surprised when I boarded and walked around the ship. Much better than I’d expected.
Though there were some places that it was showing it’s age.
As for the design, for the most part it was fine. My biggest issue was with decks 3 & 4, accessing the Monet Dining Room. The galley is located between the two main dining rooms, making access between the two impossible.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
This was my first inside cabin. Definitely better than I thought it would be. Cabin was very quite for the most part. Didn’t hear anything from neighboring cabins. Only noise was from outside my door from persons in the passage way.
Cabin was very clean and big enough for 1 or 2 persons. I traveled by myself this cruise, so I had plenty of room. Bathroom was typical cruise cabin size. Big enough for one. They still use shower curtains on this ship. Hoped that in its last dry dock they would have installed doors to the showers. The TV in the cabin is kind of small by today’s standards. Also, the image on my Tv was not great. Pretty fuzzy. Again, thought they’d have replaced them with bigger/newer models. Finally the mini fridge is WORTHLESS. Never got cold or even cooled anything in it.
Ship tip
Visit the BBQ area of the Buffett. It’s hidden away upstairs in the buffet restaurant.
Unless you take an overpriced shore excursion, the area outside the cruise terminal is extremely touristy. Absolutely nothing worth seeing or visiting.
