We were booked on the Mardi Gras the day after this cruise returned to port after 3 failed attempts to travel on it due to Covid. My young nephew wanted to join us on a cruise, and I really wanted to participate in the Sailabration events, so we booked this. It was very nice, although 4 days isn’t enough time to relax and enjoy everything, so 6 plus day cruises for us from now on. The Sailabration/fun ship meetup didn’t live up to expectations. It was a chance to take photos of nearby ships but that was it....just a horn blow, not even close enough to wave to other passengers or see or hear their deck parties (I know , safety first, but I thought they’d be a bit closer). Can’t really complain, we were on vacation in nice weather on a nice ship, I would go on Conquest again.

The musicians were excellent.....there was a 6 member band with a keyboardist and guitar player who were brothers from Brazil...absolutely phenomenal. Shows were very good also. The two comedians were okay, just not as funny as the majority of comics we’ve seen on Carnival ships before.

Ship Quality

Everything was very nice. You can tell it’s an older (and smaller) ship than what we’re used to, but nothing was lacking. For the first time ever on a Carnival ship, we saw rust and obvious minor cosmetic repairs that were needed in public areas, probably due to Covid affecting labor/money/non-sailing, to be expected, but nothing to detract from our enjoyment of a beautifully decorated ship. I missed the Ocean Plaza area found on other ships though

Nice size and layout, well maintained and great steward.
Been here plenty of times (used to own a timeshare here) so we weren’t interested in excursions, just browsed through the straw market. Nice to see new construction in port area, hopefully helpful to local economy.Didnt know about it in advance, but we discovered a ceremony with local and Carnival officials honoring Carnival’s 50th Sailabration, and had a chance to meet and speak with Christine Duffy.
Easy, took our own luggage off because we had an early flight out of Ft Lauderdale. The bad part was it appeared there was only one bus transferring us to the airport, so even though we were at the bus terminal at 8:00 am, we had to wait for it until 10:00am....standing the whole time as there was only handicapped seating for a dozen people. Short waits for Miami airport shuttles, we watched 6 or 7bof them fill up and leave. Not blaming Carnival but they should be aware of it and maybe arrange different transportation, like 2 smaller vans leaving separate times...or let us know not to leave the ship so early
