Review summary

Overall a great cruise. Not too much to do for young kids except one pool and Camp ocean. Plenty to do for adults.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Staff at the terminal are a bit abrasive with yelling out directions but as soon as you step on board you are greeted by the best customer service from all the on board crew

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room: we had a group of 6 and dinner generally took 2hrs from start to finish. Food was sometimes cold but variety was great. Buffets: best variety for desserts was at lunch buffet. Guys Burgers: delicious and ask for extra fries! Bbq (above the buffet): so worth the climb up the stairs. Mac n cheese and dry rubbed chicken was a favourite. 24hr Pizza: made fresh and worth the wait sometimes. You soon realize that half a pizza is a good “snack” before dinner in the restaurant :)

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool party on embarkation day was a great way to start the party atmosphere. Kyndall the cruise director was always fun especially during the Love & Marriage show. Comedy shows are awesome and even the PG versions! Camp Ocean is a great resource for parents to have a couple hours to enjoy a drink and a late show. The workers there take great care of the kids. Main Pool: can get crowded and wish the aft pool was kid friendly too Not a lot for young kids to do except one pool and the camp. Wish they would play the theatre shows on the cabin tv like in past cruises

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Dj at main pool did an awesome job with the party music. Musicians in the main lobby put on great shows. Loud but great. Comedians were hilarious

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Camp ocean (penguins 2-5yr olds): they have some inconvenient hours, especially when you have an excursion. Kids menu is a bit bland considering the variety on board in the buffet. The staff were great and even comfort on a one on one basis when kids are crying. Security is on point.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All staff members have remarkable customer service and remember your name even after one meeting. Dining room waiters can be a bit slow, but pit on great shows while you eat.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout is easy to figure out. The design is clearly dated in the rooms, but beds are super comfy and room was always clean. Tv is a bit small and channel selection is smaller. When you have kids sleeping and that’s all you can do, it’s disappointing. Elevators were frequently wet/sticky on the floors. Wish they had the drink stations closer to the main pool like the aft pool area.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Room had a pull down bunk, which our toddler loved to play on. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Room was a good distance from the back elevators. One of the lights didn’t work and was never fixed during our stay. Room was always cleaned thoroughly with plenty of towels.

Ship tip

Bring a travel mug/cup to fill up on water/lemonade for days by the pool or excursions. Bring magnetic hooks for the cabin. Clothespins for your towels on loungers

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Took the Stingray and Turtle Farm excursion. Stingrays was amazing and well worth it. Turtle farm was ok. Food at the bar n grill was delicious but pricey. Six conch fritters for $12 😳 Bus transportation was tight but the guide very knowledgeable and funny.

Cozumel, Mexico

Took the $65 resort excursion that consisted of 2 hrs of all you can eat/drink within the 4hr excursion at the beach. The beach itself is not your typical white sand beach. Instead it’s rocky and water shoes are needed. But sitting in a lounge chair with a tropical drink with beautiful water views is nothing to complain about. Transportation was a quick 10 minute drive. Lots of gift shops at port.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

The land and lush greenery was beautiful. The people are friendly. Took the monkey/macaw/beach excursion and worth every penny of the $90. You can take your own pictures with the animals and not have to pay for the professional pics taken. You definitely get up close to all the animals. You have to buy a locker $5 to put your backpacks in before seeing the monkeys. Suspension bridge is scary but fun. Maybe not best for young kids. The beach was beautiful.

Belize City, Belize

Didn’t do an excursion, but did take the tender to the port. Only gift shops there and did some souvenir shopping. You can definitely barter with the prices especially with the shops in the back. Definitely try the cold coconuts filled with as much rum as you want during the walk around the shops.

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
“Best of Miami” excursion after the cruise was ok. Felt rushed through some locations. Little Havana was 2 blocks for 1.5hrs, Wynwood area which spans multiple blocks was given half hour. Not enough. Didn’t even get to see South beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Had an excursion in Miami and thought that our checked luggage would at least be separated somehow from everyone else’s, but unfortunately it was all mixed in which made the bus leave late for our excursion and cut into our time.

It's mostly adults who cruises compared to children. Thats why cruiselines cater more to adults. Glad you enjoyed your cruise
