We enjoyed the trip and the port of call's were all very good. The boat was old but the staff were excellent. Depending on what's your focus (entertainment, comfort, or visiting exotic places, etc.) you may consider Conquest a good bargain.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
In general, a lot of people but very organized
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Many choices, some included in the price you already paid, some require additional. In general, if it is included, you will not see a price tag, if not, then there will be a cost next to the item. Available drinks are lemonade, ice tea, water, and ice. There are soda but I think you will need to pay extra for it.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
No lap pools, most of the pools are small and good for kids' activities. Water in Jacuzzi is lukewarm.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
There are movies to watch, concerts and shows to go to. Casino is also available but very smokey...
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
There are children's programs but I did not participate.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the service staff are very friendly, but I feel that they are very overworked.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Conquest is an old boat in Carnival line of cruise ships, but it is relatively well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin is very clean, we mostly use it just to rest and watch the sunrise/sunset. Note that
Ship tip
There is only one 110v outlet and one 220v outlet in each room. Plan accordingly (e.g., bring an extension cord)
Requires a tender ride of ~ 45 minutes. This is the only country in central and south America that English is the official language. Xunantunich Mayan ruin site is a great choice, but take 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back... Worth it!
Also a good place to visit... but it is very commercialized than the other port of call's (just a personal opinion). So depending what you'd like to do, you can still find some other things to do besides shopping).
Very organize, no complaint except that the security guard forced us carrying large luggage to take the elevator. Make the line super long and clogged the elevator which should only be used for people on wheelchair.
We had a fantastic time on the Conquest. The food in MDR was absolutely delicious. You can have as much of anything that you want. Great variety. We had breakfast every morning there also as we don’t care for buffets. Guys burgers, The Deli, pizza and Blue Iguana we had fun lunch. All free so I hint know what that review is about and skip for drinks they left out coffee. Any ship on any cruise line you will be charged for soda. Ship is older but well taken care of and very pretty decor. Loved all the ports we went to.
